I genuinely haven’t laughed so hard in months, but because people found out that the CEO of meta gave bribes to the government both in cash and stocks to ban TikTok, people are fleeing in droves to Rednote which is the actual Chinese version of TikTok AND leaving meta! He didn’t lose users to TikTok but now that he’s playing ringmaster to be funny, he’s finding out the clowns can be fucking hilarious! Anyways, I’m now learning Mandarin, and I can’t figure out why I can’t change my profile pic but it’s a rubber ducky so I’m cool with it.
Trump’s transphobic Executive Orders regarding healthcare and Federal documents are currently unenforceable and are not current actionable policy of the Federal government.

if i had a time machine and i wanted to absolutely destroy an ancient emperor or king, i would take them to the shark tunnel of an aquarium. giving them an ozymandias view of their legacy would do nothing, they can see that all empires rot just by looking around them. but the shark tunnel of an aquarium is something they haven’t seen before, something no one has seen before, something magnificent that they could build with technology only slightly out of their reach. they would bankrupt their nation trying to recreate that shark tunnel for themself. their dynasty would collapse within three generations, and, if heaven is on my side, they themself will be eaten by a shark to the delight of generations of historians to come

uh hey that person you just reblogged from used to be in our discord server but we had to kick them out because they admitted to watching t*m and j*rry… that show features violence and as such glorifies it…. when we confronted them all they said was “wtf its a show about a cat and a mouse”… if you dont believe me theres a whole callout post that features their name age and street address so you can go to their house and check… anyways you should unfollow them before people start thinking you like problematic media too :/ just trying to help

“I’m not on tiktok anyway so this does not affect me” no???? it’s not just about tiktok or whether or not you like the app??? it’s about them being able to censor and control what they want and what they don’t want people to see. it’s about them being able to keep people uneducated for the sake of their personal gain and benefits.
(it’s also about small businesses who relied on tiktok to gain customers / income.)
that being said, if the only thing you care about is the platforms you’re on, sorry to break it to you, but if they can ban tiktok, they can go after any other platforms too.
they can go after tumblr, archive of our own, instagram, youtube, facebook, etc, you name it.
