while he is innocent until proven guilty in the court of law, far too many people have jumped on the idea of him being the shooter because it’s funny. however. there are a few key things i personally need to point out.
the NYPD fucking sucks. no bones about it. they are a legitimately bad police force. they are deeply corrupt and losing public value.
they allegedly found him with the gun and a full manifesto on his person just sitting in a mcdonalds. why in sweet fuck would anybody able to pull off that kind of murder and then evade the police for days just be carrying that around with him??
just. think critically for 30 seconds about any and all media surrounding this case that you read, and especially remember that the public opinion, while it isn’t necessarily supposed to be, is influential in court cases.

luigi yelled that this was “an insult to the intelligence of the american people” while he was being dragged by police and news pundits are framing it as a deranged and violent outburst. news media are picking apart details of his life to paint him as a cold-blooded and mentally ill individual. even something as innocent as playing “among us” with friends is being framed as some insidious look into an assassin’s disturbed psyche, ffs.
news media are also capitalizing on luigi’s supposed “bizarre and impossible to understand” politics as an obvious way to paint him as a scary individual when the guy is… a centrist, at most. whose views are similar to those of your average college-educated white guy.

I hate how 3 pm is so close to 2 pm so there’s an illusion that there’s still time left in the day to do things but in reality 3 pm is also close to 4 pm and if it’s close to 4 pm you might as well just wait till tomorrow. <- can’t argue against this by the way.
in real life you will probably not respond to harassment in a sexy, clever, scripted way where you come out with the upper hand and everyone claps. you will freeze up and your moment will pass, or your voice will shake when you tell them to stop and you’ll realize two minutes later that you’re gross and sweaty and sticky from the adrenaline. maybe you’ll be on the ball and answer in a way you actually think is pretty smart and get ignored, or they’ll get more aggressive when you mouth off to them. you almost never will walk away feeling victorious. you walk away feeling uncomfortable and relieved that it’s over. you’ll think about it later and imagine that maybe you could have said something else. maybe you’ll feel ashamed that you weren’t quicker-witted, weren’t able to cut them down to size, weren’t able to avoid that lingering sick feeling in the pit of your stomach, as though there’s some kind of magical words you could have said that would have left you feeling less powerless. there really aren’t.
Honestly this is such an important lesson to learn. If someone threatens, belittles, or verbally assaults you, you will likely feel bad, no matter how you respond. Please don’t beat yourself up for feeling emotions that are perfectly healthy and justified.
Hey by the way next time that some normal person is murdered and the cops “aren’t able to find out who did it” remember that they’ve spent over a week and unfathomable resources relentlessly conducting a nation-wide search for someone who murdered a CEO, and it APPEARS that they’ve got him (IF it’s even him) — so next time they tell you that they Just Don’t Know Who Killed That Civilian And They Can’t Find Out, And Don’t Have The Resources To Try Harder, know that it’s total and absolute bullshit. It’s just that a regular civilian is less important than a CEO. Finding the guy who murdered a vicious parasite is more important in maintaining the status quo than finding someone who murdered your loved one, or that person you know, or the guy who runs the corner store, or the stranger who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
