I used to do historical reenactment when I was at University. The post is saying that people often label things that trans people do as being a result of growing up as a certain gender even when they wouldn’t make that type of claim about a cis person acting the exact same way. In fact some people might celebrate that type of person or see them as normal or unremarkable if they didn’t know they were trans.

I am not making this a ‘trans people versus feminists against lookism’ issue. You may require plastic surgery in your lifetime as well. Anyone could. The line of where plastic surgery is frivolous and driven by vanity or necessary for maintaining or creating a greater quality of life is far thinner than you think. That nose job may have been motivated by Eurocentric beauty standards or it may have been motivated by the desire to correct a deviated septum. I am saying that at a time when we are all losing our bodily autonomy and access to medical care at an alarming rate, now is not the time to be writing treatises on why access to certain forms of healthcare is bad.
im a trans man having top surgery this year and if a woman wanting a boob job had to go through all the exhausting loops I have with therapists and psychiatric evaluations for nearly 2 years then I wouldn’t feel better, I’d feel sorry for her. we BOTH should have been able to go to the doctor and said “I want my chest to be different” and to have it be done without a hassle, because we’re adults and we get to chose how our bodies look. a lot of times your self image just can’t be cured with body positivity and good self talk. no one else gets to judge someone for what they do with their body regardless of the reason.

It’s a good dumpster recipe, so you can add or substitute ingredients to your liking and it’ll still be good. This recipe is also super scalable, so it’s also a great thing to store in your fridge for later meals when you’re too tired to cook. I am kinda calculating the measurements in my head right now, but that’s the general gist of it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Preoccupied by the way polyamory is treated with hate. I’ve gotten hate for even approaching the subject in the past. There’s so much violent rhetoric and ideation surrounding it, so much genuine bigotry and prejudice towards people who practice it. But if you mention that, you get met with dismissal. I once signed up to participate in a study on how depression affects memory, forgot I was meant to go do it, and when I emailed to apologise to the PhD student running it she basically told me that a) she was very used to this happening and b) the weird irony of her theories’ correctness making it very difficult to arrange proving them had by now gone from infuriating to hysterical
I went to the Grand Canyon when I was depressed and I literally forgot the whole thing. Like, the only reason I even know I was there is that I have photographs of myself standing in front of the Grand Canyon with dead eyes but i have absolutely no memory of it
People talk about depression like it’s just being sad all the time but straight up your brain stops working and sadness is just one of the many, many consequences of that
