old people are allowed to be horny. so what if your elderly neighbor posted her cowboy sex fantasy on Facebook. so what if your nana only watches westerns where the main character is shirtless 40% of the time. so what if your great aunt reads bodice rippers voraciously. they’re loving life.

what, you think your granny had 2 husbands and 5 kids by praying them into existence?

I don’t hate furries even a little bit. They’re a very strong race. You know who’s a furry? Every fucking IT technician, every computer genius running the frameworks for Google, Youtube, Steam, Roblox, or whatever. You think someone dedicated enough to their hobby to build a fucking $4000 fursuit isn’t an absolute wacko-genius at their REAL job?? Hyperfixations when used by the right people yield great power. Also almost every item I’ve sold on here was bought by a furry, does that say more about me than them??? Idk but they have the funds.

thank you pukicho

Don’t mention it, random-ass furry

Everybody say thank you Ian McKellen. The old queen of all time. For a lot of reasons but right now I’m just obsessed with actors being gay and making the things they’re in gayer. Gandalf was whispering in their ears like make sure you hold his hand. The people looking for it will notice that. Our samfrodo warriors. And he played magneto like that. She ate. Where would we be without him

Similarly the dynamic between magneto and professor x has been Like That but I feel like there were some acting choices happening. I think Ian McKellen did that. And he just has the most insane chemistry with Patrick Stewart because they’re real life friends who regularly kiss on the mouth. Ian McKellen invented yaoi

I have scared some people with this post I would like to clarify that he is very much alive and well. He’s fine. I just think he’s neat

i wonder what his thoughts are on gandalf big naturals

I think he’d make it a reality if you asked him to

A rushed digital comic. At the top there are three faces, each convulsed and spitting with keyboard smash as dialogue. On the bottom left, there is a character staring into a mirror with their arms planted firmly on the counter. “huff…hufff….uhufff….” is dialogue next to the image. One the bottom right there is a hasty drawing of a phone held in someone’s hands, with their face reflected in the screen. Text on the phone reads “guess who almost just fucking died lmaoo”ALT

is this accurate

ok but legitimately i think the reason why kids aren’t taking internet safety seriously is because the people who are telling us not to put our personal information out seem so out of touch. no one acknowledges the possibility of meeting very real teenaged friends online, they always say that everyone you meet is a 40 year old white man in disguise. because they aren’t acknowledging things we know are true, it becomes a lot easier to dismiss the rest of what they’re saying as well. internet safety lessons absolutely must keep up with the times and acknowledge the internet’s capacity for good if you want kids to take to heart warnings about its capacity for bad.

Some actual safety tips for teenagers:

1. Have proof they’re a teenager first. More than just a picture, have a video call with them.

2. If you want to meet up with them, have your parents or a trusted adult come with you. Even if they are a proven teenager, its still good to have supervision in case any issues happen.

3. If you are talking to an adult, and they start being sexual in any way, you run the fuck away. It doesn’t matter if they’re 40 or 20. An adult inherently has a power dynamic that teenagers do not. And its up to the adult to act responsible about it. There’s exceptions of course, if you’re 16 and dating an 18 year old, that’s not a problem, we’re not talking about that.

4. Being in a server with adults or ran by adults is not inherently bad. Talking to adults is not inherently a problem, and will likely happen in any number of Discord servers. It is only an issue when they are acting sexual and show predatory behavior.

5. Look out for grooming behavior. It can be difficult, because at first it seems like innocuous behavior, like complimenting or giving gifts. Especially if you feel lonely and have low self esteem. And groomers actively target people like that.

If they start trying to isolate you, talk sexual with you, state they depend on you for emotional needs, blame you for their own actions, try to be secretive about the relationship- Then you need to talk to people you trust, block the perpetrator, and call the police on them.

6. If this does happen to you, remember this: It is not your fault. Even if you didn’t listen to a single thing listed here, it is not your fault. It is the fault of the adults who knew better, and didn’t care. It’s not your fault.

To my followers: if any of you guys are underaged, please be very VERY careful on here, and don’t fall for any of the tricks the groomer would use on you, just block them and report them.

important advice :>

1850s: Some scientists notice the connection between dinosaurs & birds and think birds might have evolved from dinosaurs, given similarity between Archaeopteryx and many dinosaurs, as well as between dinosaurs and living birds

1960s: Deinonychus is discovered. Scientists starting to realize birds did evolve from dinosaurs; other ideas become fringe hypotheses

1970s: More dinosaurs are discovered that point to dinosaur behavior being more like birds than reptiles

1980s: Scientists begin using evolutionary relationships (ie, cladistics) to classify life, rather than Linnean Taxonomy (Kingdom-Phylum-Class etc.), especially for extinct creatures, because it really doesn’t apply to extinct life like, at all. Coelophysis, an early dinosaur, is speculatively depicted with feathers. Some very bird-like dinosaurs are debated on whether they are birds or dinosaurs.

1993: Birds are straight-up called dinosaurs in the famous film “Jurassic Park,” which is one of the first pieces of media to depict dinosaurs as extremely birdlike; changes public perception of dinosaurs dramatically

1996: Sinosauropteryx, the first feathered non-avian dinosaur, is revealed to the public. Birds determined to have evolved from dinosaurs, full stop; BANDits (birds-are-not-dinosaurs scientists) now a backwards, on-par-with creationists group. Since we classify dinosaurs based on their evolutionary relationships, we start calling birds dinosaurs, because they evolved from dinosaurs.

1999: Sinornithosaurus, the first raptor (ie, cousin of Velociraptor) dinosaur found with feathers, is described. Many other feathered dinosaurs are described as well, from all over the group closely related to birds. The Walking With Dinosaurs landmark documentary series calls birds dinosaurs.

2000: Microraptor, a raptor dinosaur with full wings on its arms and legs, is described

2001: Velociraptor is given… “feathers” in Jurassic Park III. Velociraptor also portrayed as more bird-like than ever. When Dinosaurs Roamed America, another groundbreaking dinosaur documentary, shows all members of the group closely related to birds (except T. rex) with feathers, including Deinonychus, all over their bodies. Also calls birds dinosaurs.

2002: A specimen of Psittacosaurus, a dinosaur about as far away from birds as you can get, is described with quills on its tail very similar to feathers

2004: Dilong, a small relative of T. rex, is found with feathers and display structures like modern birds

2007: Many feathered dinosaurs are now known from the group most closely related to birds. A specimen of Velociraptor with feather attachment sites on the arms for wing feathers is now known. Velociraptor now known to be definitely, no question, feathered

2009: Tianyulong, another dinosaur from a group very far from birds, is found with fluffy quills covering all over its back

2012: Feathered dinosaurs now coming out many times a year. Yutyrannus, a large and closer relative to T. rex, found with shaggy feathers all over its body

2014: Kulindadromeus, another dinosaur from the group very far from birds, is named. It has fluffy covering like that of Sinosauropteryx all over its body, rather than quills. Feathers determined to be mostly likely ancestral to all dinosaurs and lost secondarily in larger species (especially if fluff known on closest relatives, pterosaurs, is also feathers - see below).

2015: Zhenyuanlong, a close relative of Velociraptor the same size as Velociraptor, is found with extremely large wings. Raptor dinosaurs inferred to have large wing feathers unless anatomy indicates otherwise (such as having short wings). Jurassic World comes out, making dinosaurs less bird-like than in the original Jurassic Park - with lizard-like tails and behavior, and no feathers at all. Essentially, a huge step backwards.

2018: Branched fluffy covering very similar to feathers described now on multiple pterosaurs, the group most closely related to dinosaurs (think Pterodactyls). Fluffy covering considered ancestral to all members of the Pterosaur-Dinosaur group, if not all animals more closely related to birds than to crocodilians.

We have known birds are dinosaurs since before many people reading this were born - since before I was born. We have known dinosaurs had feathers since the mid-1990s. We have known Velociraptor was fluffy and had wings since the mid-2000s. This isn’t news. This isn’t up for debate. Please grow up. Thank you!

My question is, how do they find out that these dinosaurs had feathers? They only find fossils. What advanced technology are they using?

The fossils have feather imprints.

It‘s scary to see how very important european petitions get no visibility whatsoever. We had a basic income petition last year which failed because not enough people knew about it. Now we have a „tax the rich“ one that only lasts until october this year and only has around 250k out of 1 mio. signings.

Most EU people go through their every day life w/o knowing about them. There are no ads, no marketing…nothing. I know that costs money though one might think important petitions that lead to a better and progressive life would be supported by the government or ministries in some way, but nooooo

And why should they? It’s petitions that would help out the poor and middle class, but endanger capitalism and their exploitation, sooo: government and business leads for example.

So here the link for those who are interested:

The petition has to reach not only 1 million statements of support, but also a minimum threshold of support in at least 7 EU states. If you have citizenship for an EU country other than Germany and France, your country has yet to meet the minimum threshold for this petition.

kill the rhetoric that americans are so lazy that they won’t take farm jobs. americans take labor intensive jobs all the time. the reason no americans will take farm jobs is because agricultural work is exempt from the vast majority of labor laws and labor protections, including the use of child labor. so only immigrants - people who have little to no protection from the law or other options for work - take most of these jobs. we have created a permanent underclass of labor and then say that americans are just lazy for not volunteering to be part of the underclass.

there are actually good discussions to be had about how alienated many americans are from food production (hi hello that’s what my only popular post is about), but the real solution to this problem is to protect agricultural workers, citizens or not. ban child labor in its entirety. punish corporations and farm owners that abuse and poison their workers. reform the immigration process so that these people aren’t barred from legal protection and recourse.

agricultural workers have been exploited since the dawn of civilization, but the US in specific has been doing this since slavery, and it evolved in the 30s when FDR’s labor laws excluded them specifically because most agricultural workers at the time were black. now it’s mostly latino immigrants.

food doesn’t fucking pick or slaughter itself. but citizens aren’t going to take these jobs when the entire industry is rife with abuse - both legal and illegal - and horrific wages and working conditions.

This does not even begin to cover the weirdness of cathode ray televisions.

They are literally particle accelerators that you point at your face.

And for eighty years, Americans’ favorite thing to do was turn them on and stare at them for hours.

If you overcharge them, they emit gamma radiation.

Servicing them is like disarming a bomb – their capacitors are enormous and are usually charged to hundreds or thousands of volts, and most of them have no bleed system that drains that charge, meaning that they can still be dangerous months or years after the last time they were powered up. A discharge can not only electrocute you, it can cause tools to melt or explode.

A black-and-white cathode ray TV driven by an unmodulated analog signal is theoretically capable of resolution that would require a microscope to perceive.

Old school CRT monitors had the same issues.

Back when, I worked at a small whitebox pc manufacturer. One day, a service tech brought back an older, gigantic (30 inch or so) AutoCAD monitor from a service call. The customer said “Made me feel nauseous”

So, we put it on the bench and fired it up. You immediately felt the hair on your body stand up, and my co worker put his hand up close to turn the power off, and his hand and forearm started spasming - I yanked the power cord from the wall as the tingle I was feeling began to feel hot.

No idea what was wrong with the thing, but it was kicking out some serious electro magnetic radiation.

Remembering the almost imperceptible high pitched buzzing that let you know the tv was still on even when nothing was on the screen. Also putting your forearm near the screen and watching the hairs stand up

The little crackle if you touched the screen to wipe it…

Omg no one’s even talking about the smell of the screen

This is both horrifying to read and nostalgic

The little crackle if you touched the screen to wipe it…

Omg no one’s even talking about the smell of the screen

This is both horrifying to read and nostalgic

Triangle factory edit in which many regular polygons of varying bright colors are coming off of the line. The worker says "i fucking hate this job"ALT
Triangle factory edit in which the worker stands between two lines, the one in front producing blue circles and the one behind producing red squares. The worker says "can i go on break please"ALT
Triangle factory edit in which one worker is taking a photo of another as they come off of the line with their arms outstretched in joy. The worker coming off of the line says "weee hahaha" and the one taking the photo says "i got next". Behind them, there is an OSHA poster on the wall.ALT
Recursive triangle factory edit in which the worker is staring at the line, saying "fuck". coming off of the line is a smaller machine, with a smaller version of the worker saying "fuck", which has an even smaller machine coming out of it with an even smaller version of the worker. This is implied to recur infinitely.ALT

The end of the triangleposting (maybe)
