honestly missionaries are evil. the idea of traveling the world to tell people Who Didnt Fucking Ask that their beliefs are wrong in the hopes that theyll adopt your beliefs seems sinister
The Christians in the notes whining are so absolutely stupid
I don’t even want to talk about how they specifically target poor people and hold basic necessities over their heads in exchange for faith.
“I read about an [Inuit] hunter who asked the local missionary priest, ‘If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?’ ‘No,’ said the priest, ‘Not if you did not know.’
‘Then why,’ asked the [Inuit] earnestly, ‘did you tell me?” -Annie Dillard

My culture and our religious practices (Inuit) have been decimated by Christianity and I fucking hate pretending its a neutral thing.
Christians in the notes still don’t get it. They’re saying that missionaries aren’t that bad bc they’re just trying to save all ppl and they’ve started quoting bible verses and whatnot but here’s the thing: I. Don’t. Believe. In. That. Like your beliefs and scriptures are non applicable to me (and everyone else who isn’t Christian, or at least abrahamic) bc we’re not christian and I literally don’t care if you think we “need to be saved from Satan” or smg bc frankly, it’s not your business and that “well meaning, innocent” intention is still forcing your religion onto us. OP is right. Missionaries are evil. Leave other religions tf alone.
One half of my family is Native Christians via forced conversion.
The other half is white Christians, including missionaries.
I can tell you that missionaries don’t just invalidate other religions (mainly indigenous religions) to try to convert people, they blatantly hold valuable resources hostage to convert people.
They’ll provide books to communities with low literacy rates… but all the books are bibles or otherwise Christian-centric.
They’ll host free meals for the whole community… but the people have to attend a church sermon before they’re allowed to have food.
They’ll host events and groups for kids… but all the education and activities are about Christianity.
Missionaries blatantly take advantage of scared and vulnerable communities, who are like that because of Christian colonialism, to forcefully convert them and kill off their religions and cultures.

trans women’s genitals are not so repulsive that they need to be totally hidden through our clothes at the expense of our health and safety and for the sake of your comfort.
if cis men don’t have to tuck then neither do trans women.
Tucking is way more dangerous than people seem to realize. Tucking can cause irritation, blisters, urinary tract infections, and may increase the chances of getting testicular cancer.
Forcing trans people to tuck is violence.
all of this!! it can also cause inguinal hernias, which is basically when the abdominal muscles in the inguinal cavity (where the testes go when u tuck) weaken and part of ur intestines slip through that wall and either get the blood supply cut off or worse. its fixable with surgery but if left alone can be life threatening.
and like you say, its violence. its society forcing many trans women to choose between either self inflicted violence or violence from a hate crime. trans bodies need to be normalised and accepted. we deserve to live safely and happily.
This includes if said trans girl is wearing a swimsuit/leggings/short shorts
i [23m] gave my girlfriend [21f] my discord password and she used it to hack into my account to change my theme from dark theme to light theme the new age of cyber crimes is here
The reason endermen don’t like it when you look at them is because they communicate telepathically with one another by locking eyes! Humans are absolutely not designed to do this so when we look at them we are accidentally projecting all of our thoughts into them at the same time and it hurts :(
But like, since the player is not of the Minecraft world, the player is just what the use to explore it, what if it’s like:
transfems shouldn’t have to change every aspect of themselves to be palatable to wider society if you can’t handle a woman with a husky voice that doesn’t swing her hips when she walks that doesn’t stand up straight and talk like some upper class white bitch you’re weak and you will NOT survive the winter
Like honestly. This with cis women too
Oh this cis woman has a deep voice? Wow she’s pretty cool
That cis woman is buff and squares her shoulders as she walks? Can I take her to coffee?
That cis woman and her trans girlfriend both talk with an Appalachian accent? Oh my goodness, they’re so beautiful together
Every single thing that people use to exclude trans women excludes cis women, too
it’s good that we’re saying “i don’t feel guilty about pleasure im not Catholic” but we also need to start saying “i don’t feel self-righteous about being overworked I’m not Puritan”
Was wishing there was a positivity post for original fiction writers since I see so many about how fanfic writers are doing so much for their communities even when they’re not actively writing, and then I thought:
Be the change you want to see in the world.
So this is a positivity post for the writers out here who are working very hard on stories with no established community. Who can’t talk about their blorbos and plot lines and brainstorming to anyone and expect them to know what any of it means. Who don’t have much to share publicly, but are hoping they will one day.
You’re doing a lot of hard work, and I recognize and appreciate what you’re putting into the world, even when you’re resting.
Reblogging for all of my Original Fiction mutuals. I see you. I love your works. You’re working hard, and I RESPECT you 👏👏👏
No! You’re both wrong! Shakespeare wanted one thing and one thing only. To sell tickets.
If people spend money at the Globe theatre and don’t steal his bones then his ghost is happy
“Good friend for Jesus
sake forbeare, To dig the dust enclosed here. Blessed be the man that
spares these stones, And cursed be he that moves my bones.”
Shakespeare’s actual grave. He put a curse on anyone that tries to touch his bones. That’s what Shakespeare wants. Buy tickets and don’t touch his bones.

Financial scam cause how has he gone and done it a month after doing it
“but the genres i want to engage with aren’t written with girl characters almost ever, let alone well!” you have three options. one is to find an indie creator working her ass off to create this on her lonesome and her comic/novel/audio drama is free or on itch.io for like 3$-15$. secondly is to try new genres and surprise yourself. thirdly is to roll up your sleeves and make it.
please can we do inbox trick-or-treating this year. can we make that a thing on tumblr. please please please please please
literally all it entails is sending people “trick-or-treat” asks and people answering those asks with pictures of candy or those silly spooky plastic toys or whatever else you would give a trick-or-treater. please. please can we have some whimsy
Don’t forget trick or treating this year everyone!
I won’t forget this year
You’ll all get treats this year if you send those asks my way!
I remember a time when dick cheney was considered by many to be the most evil man in the world, maybe with the exception of henry kissinger. Between his role in the invasion of Iraq and the unsubstantiated “weapons of mass destruction” claim, the creation of the patriot act and the expansion of government surveillance power, and the controversy over Halliburton (of which he was the previous CEO of) generating billions of dollars of revenue during the war on terrorism… Idk man I’m just saying I wouldn’t be excited about this guy endorsing my candidate. To say the least.
i’m sorry you have to be dumb as hell to think porn invented misogyny. misogynistic tropes in porn are just reflective of a misogynistic society. a man doesn’t watch porn and turn into a misogynist. you could go your whole life not watching porn and still develop an opinion like “women are sex objects” or feel that you’re entitled to sex without consent just from what you see and hear from others. this seems like a simple concept to grasp if you describe yourself as a leftist?
Every once and a while this ancient post rises from the depths of hell and I still get people telling me “Oregon be cold sometimes” like guys i really maybe thought about this for .86 seconds and all i wanted to do was roast Ford please let me be

Here’s a tabletop RPG history question, and also an etymology question if your nerdery bends that way.
d66 tables – as in “roll a six-sided die twice, reading the first roll as the ‘tens’ place and the second roll as the 'ones’ place, yielding a number in the range from 11 to 66” – have been around at least as early as 1977, when the Starships book for classic Traveller used them to randomly generate trade goods for players to buy. However, the term “d66” wasn’t yet being used to describe them – the book’s text simply describes in detail how to roll on them each time such a table appears.
Conversely, we know the term “d66” was being used to describe this type of random lookup table no later than 2004, because several popular Japanese indie RPGs which came out in that year use it. However, none of these games seem to have originated it – the way they’re using it suggests they’re dropping a piece of jargon that was already well established at the time.
So the question is: what’s the earliest tabletop RPG that specifically uses the term “d66” or “d66 table” to describe this type of random lookup roll? i.e., not “d6/d6” or “d6,d6” or any alternative verbiage, but “d66” specifically? It has to have been published in or before 2004, and (probably) not earlier than 1977. No speculation about which games might have used it, please; if you’re going to suggest a candidate, be prepared to cite a specific title and page number.
Got one! Mordheim original rulebook, 1999. Page 119, “roll d66”.
edit: not sure this is “the original” but it provides an older date than 2004
Fantastic – that pushes it back five years. An unambiguously pre-1999 citation of an occurrence of the term “d66” to describe this type of table is our next target, then.

I dunno man. I found out today that a subway sandwich is $14 now. A shitty subway footlong sandwich that isn’t actually 12 inches long and is occasionally made with expired ingredients and was never a great option to start with. I ate those in high school because I was broke and at the mall a lot.
There are poke bowls in my city from a local place for $16. Super fresh fish and veg, warm rice, more than I can eat in one sitting, for the price of a sandwich and a drink at america’s most mid-tier sandwich shop.
Someone in another post said (paraphrased) you used to be able to get something mediocre for cheap, but now the mediocre things cost as much as the nice things so why would you?
I love it when the Wikipedia article for a manga series will include a lengthy discussion of its complete publication history, including periodical names, dates, volume numbers, relevant reprints and reissues, and even ISBNs for specific collected editions, but at no point does it get around to describing that the series is actually about.
