I have… no idea what to even say here. We got this letter 2 days ago. Not even a *week* before the scheduled date. We’re 350$ behind on rent, which isn’t a lot, but the landlady refuses to cancel the eviction if we can pay it. I think its because she found out I’m trans? She’s been really rude to me ever since. Idk.
I’ve been applying to apartments nonstop, but our credit is poor and an eviction makes finding a place that isn’t run by a slumlord almost impossible. We’re going to be homeless in a few days … and the only option I see for the short term is an extended stay motel, and contacting every suitable craigslist rental listing I see.

Bit of a extreme situation happening to family friend right now, dude doesnt have a tumblr so I’ll be making a GoFundMe post on his behalf In a few hours
This isn’t normally something I regularly post, but our family friend DJ is a single dad with 3 kids who all recently became homeless. We have been helping them where possible, but they need an actual place to live.
I cannot get into the nitty gritty of the circumstances, but they were essentially screwed over by landlord and was forced to stay at a motel with health hazards for $440 a week until other arrangements could be made. DJ has a job but has been struggling to find childcare in the meantime. Donations would go towards rent for an apartment or other housing.

it’s a label. It. Is. A. Label. It is also a slur. However, and this is very important, stop policing peoples labels. Stop it. It helps no one and forces queer people to choose a couple of boxes to fit into which is fucking stupid. The vast majority of the queer community is built on the fact that we don’t have to fit into society’s boxes so why the fuck are we building our own and then tearing the throats out of anyone who tries to leave their designated box and look around a bit? The queer community is unique in that there are a lot of slurs that also are used as labels in the community, which is punk and cool, but that means you can’t police someone for using a label that also happens to be a slur. Mind your own damn business and remember that the only wrong way to use a label is to tell someone else how they should be using it.

I think one thing people forgot about terfs is how RACIST they are towards women of color (god forbid be a trans woman of color) and how those people uphold white supremacist views of gender.
women of color being hypermasculinized is not a new thing. it’s happened for decades, it’s just it’s been brought to light more with how other white women, especially those who wear the feminist label, throw these women of color, MAINLY BROWN AND BLACK WOMEN, under the bus and dehumanize them. as a black person this is nothing new to me, it’s just gross to see this as an ongoing issue. its transmisognistic and has roots in misogynoir.

There's something that really rubs me the wrong way about the statement of "transmascs can benefit from male privilege" - not because it's false, but because it requires the individual pass as a cis man. There can't be a chance in hell they're clocked and they have to be quiet about their identity and if other queers can't understand how traumatic it honestly is to pretend you're cis to be respected or even not get fucking hate crimed (and this can go for any trans people, not just transmascs), then I don't think they're ever going to fully grasp why using that statement as a way to shut down other trans people is, at best, ethically hazy.
