Hazem is a lifelong friend of @bilal-salah0, and now someone I’m lucky enough to call a friend of my own. He’s living in Belgium and studying dentistry (sometimes, both of us are messaging each other when we can’t focus on our studying 🤧) and he hasn’t been able to see his family since 2018.
Donations have been trickling in slowly. Hazem needs to raise enough to evacuate 5 adults (his parents and 3 adult brothers) and 2 children (his younger brother and sister), all currently displaced in Jabalia Camp. Because the Rafah crossing might open soon, and might not stay open for long, he needs to raise the money as soon as possible so that he won’t miss a limited evacuation window. In the meantime, conditions in north Gaza are deteriorating, and it’s painful for Hazem having to watch his family suffer from abroad.
So far he’s raised enough to evacuate his younger brother. His next goal is an additional €5,000 by the end of this weekend to cover his little sister—can we give this campaign a serious push for her sake?

The war has destroyed the Gaza Strip and displaced families and killed children, women and the elderly.. Those who remained alive suffer from hunger, thirst and lack of medicines and hospitals..
My family in the Gaza Strip consists of 30 children and women.. The war has deprived the children in my family of safety, going to school and playing like any other child.. Rather, they have become subject to daily suffering to secure food and search for water and medicine..
My family was displaced from the northern Gaza Strip and moved to the southern Gaza Strip and now lives in tents made of cloth and plastic in very difficult and complex tragic conditions.. They do not even find a mattress to sleep on, nor cooking gas, nor any of the necessities of life..
Your help and donations to us are a rescue and an effective contribution to alleviating these harsh conditions..
I am also trying to collect money in order to try to get the family out of the Gaza Strip and escape To Egypt when Rafah crossing opens..

I saw somebody say that watching the Percy Jackson show made them realize that in the first books Percy doesn’t even say half the stuff he thinks and he’s just a quiet kid silently judging everyone, like they’re so right.

sorry to hijack your joke op but if the container is plastic and the food has more than a few little spots - ie, you forgot this container a month ago rather than a few days - you should throw it away anyway as the mold in question could still linger in the tiny scratches and dents in your container. your health is more important than reusing one tupperware. if you find yourself consistently forgetting (hello my beautiful angels with adhd), consider investing in some glass storage containers! they have a non-porous and smooth surface that makes them much easier and safer to clean. I got a bunch of pyrex for Christmas a few years ago and it’s very nice to not have to worry about mold, smells, stains, etc.

Guys the situation in Khan Younis is so scary that I don’t even know how to put it into words anymore. All it takes is looking up the city and seeing headlines like “over 100 of bodies ripped to pieces in Khan Younis!” “An Israeli airstrike decimates a house in Khan Younis belonging to x family!” “Even in the midst of ceasefire talks, Israeli forces continue pushing into Khan Younis” for all-consuming anxiety to seize me for all the families that have yet to evacuate. It’s getting so so bad there & yet so many people are still unable to evacuate.
