A lot of the reblogs were good but this one stood out to me the most and I agree so much. I can’t take DNIs or the people who use them seriously anymore because they’re either an essay long, they have something really dumb and specific, or people expect you to treat it like the law. Also the culture surrounding them in general is just really toxic. I think in theory and to some extent they can work?? like yeah if its an 18+ account minors SHOULDN’T interact.
The internet will never be able to cater to everyone’s needs and wants. Sometimes DNIs actually will encourage the people on there to purposely interact/troll you. Trust me, the block button will become your best friend once you start using it. It has worked 10x better for me than a DNI list ever did and really helps your mental health. That or y'know, just ignore content/people that upset you.
A lot of the people involved in DNI culture come off as pretentious assholes like the blue character did. A goblin and an elf have decided to defy tradition and get married. Their ceremony will be held in the magical forest in accordance with elven tradition.
It’s a beautiful ceremony. The elven bride in her finest, flowing silks, dappled by the sun. The goblin bride in a human-sized wedding dress stolen from a goodwill.
The elven side of the aisle of course has the elvish bride’s father and mother, as well as her older sisters, as well as all the forest animals who inhabit her parents’ court.
The goblin side is a bunch of The Labyrinth looking freaks in their best simulacrum of what they think good folks wear to weddings. The father of the bride is wearing a really snazzy cocktail dress.
It’s a mixed tradition ceremony. The elven part of the ceremony involves the young couple being presented in front of the king of the forest, a majestic unicorn, who blesses the couple by touching them with his horn.
The goblins kidnapped a local priest to bless the couple according to their tradition.
The ring the elven bride presents to her wife-to-be is brought in by a squirrel riding a doe. It’s made of silver, inlaid with decorative golden leaves.
The goblin worst man accidentally swallowed the ring, which was purchased from a pawn shop.
The father of the elven bride keeps looking over to the goblin side of the aisle, barely hiding his disgust. But he is resigned to it. What matters most is his daughter’s happiness.
At the end of the ceremony his face sinks as the father of the goblin bride says “Welcome to the family! You can call me brother,” while vigorously shaking his hand.
The reception is, of course, held at a speakeasy according to goblin tradition. The ceiling is only five feet tall, making it very difficult for the elves.

Minecraft feels like it doesn’t know what to do for big updates any more so they’re doing like small miscellaneous updates collected together. I wish they’d move on from trying to give them a theme bc I feel like that’s just confusing.
One thing I wish they’d do is do updates from time to time and go back and add pieces to old update. Like maybe add more fish or tree types.
Specifically what made me have this thought is that I’d love if they’d add more to the geodes. Like the amethysts are lovely but I’d love if there was a whole range of crystals to find in geodes!! I feel like that’s along the line of the archaeological stuff they’ve done recently! Digging into the earth for history and stuff!
Also if they ever do a forest update I’d freak out. I’d love if they revamped their nature bc I feel like that part of the over world specifically has been the same since the beginning era of minecraft. Like ocean, nether, caves, villages, NOW FOREST. And end.

i know the de-orbiting of the ISS has been planned for the end of 2030 for like a year now but having to read that elon musk gets to kill it. do you know what the ISS is. the international space station. what it has meant for science, for collaboration between nations, what a symbol of hope for the future it is. I hope elon musk dies before 2030 so he doesnt get to feel a damn thing about getting to put his fucking name anywhere near it.
This is worded really misleadingly. Yes, NASA has commissioned SpaceX to develop the deorbit vehicle, but that’s it.
While the company will develop the deorbit spacecraft, NASA will take ownership after development and operate it throughout its mission. Along with the space station, it is expected to destructively breakup as part of the re-entry process.
Yeah. Basically, NASA needs to stop spending so much money on the space station: they’re required by congress to be doing Moon things and it’s hard to do those things while spending most of their budget on the ISS. There’s no realistic way to bring the ISS back down (we’d need a lot of dangerous trips in shuttles we don’t have), so it needs to be destroyed. We can’t just leave it up there, because it’s in a low orbit that constantly decays. It was placed there because that made it possible for the shuttles (which we don’t have anymore) to get to it.
So if we just turn off the lights and leave it alone, it’ll end up coming down anyway. And it’s big enough that some chunks will make it to the ground, which could be bad. We don’t want to kill anybody if a big chunk of it lands in Paris or something.
So NASA is going to intentionally destroy it by deorbiting it safely. This means they can aim where it goes, so they’re gonna crash it into Point Nemo: the spot in the Pacific ocean that is farthest from human settlement.
And they’re asking Elon’s company to do it because they make Big Rockets. Don’t worry, his name will only be a footnote in the history of the ISS.
But yeah. At the end of the day, this is a positive for science. NASA has had a long time to learn cool stuff with the ISS, and now they’re trying to safely decommission it so they can move onto other stuff. They have a finite budget and they don’t want to keep paying for the ISS. It’d be nice if NASA had a bigger budget so they didn’t have to make these choices… But honestly even with much more money and no Moon Mandate they’d be looking at decommissioning the ISS by now. It’s old, and expensive, and our major partner on it is Russia, which is a bit of a political issue these days.
Yes it’d be cool if they could bring it down safely and put it in a museum but it’s kinda huge and we can’t.

My concern here is not “they shouldn’t do that”, it’s “i don’t trust a Musk company to do it safely or well”. We’ve known for a long time we were gonna have to decommission the ISS.
It’s basically their only choice at this point, sadly. The other US option is the Boeing nonsense that currently has stranded several astronauts, I don’t think the Ariane 6 can be used for this (it’s a launch vehicle, not something thing you can use to deorbit anything), they’re not allowed to use Chinese rockets, and there’s a lot of political issues with using Russian rockets.
Thus, SpaceX.
