In the end, if children bother you for sensory reasons and that’s why you don’t want them to be in the same public spaces as you, there are disabled adults who can and would cause the same sensory issues for you. Adults who are loud, who vocally stim, who have poor boundaries, poor hygiene, who cry in public, etc etc etc. And they’re already socially ostracized for all of this.
So actually yeah, it’s the bare minimum you can do for the group with the least human rights on the planet to figure out how to accept children as part of your public community without hating them for it, even if you are child-free yourself.

I’m a moderate support needs disabled person using my own experiences to make a point about children. This is about learning to respect children as full human beings. I am saying that if you are bigoted towards kids because of these reasons, you’d be bigoted towards people like me or those more disabled than me. I’m saying the way you treat children is a huge marker of how you’d treat everyone else.
And the thousands of tags on this post saying things along the lines of “Yeah kids are disgusting little cumwarts but we should be kind to them” like please start talking about high support needs disabled people like that. Do it.
This is about how children have zero rights. Children cannot seek medical care without caretaker permission, they can’t escape abuse without extreme circumstances leading to rare intervention, and 99% of the population, all who have been children, make it a point to say how much they fucking suck shit even when making a point that we should be nicer. THIS IS ABOUT CHILDREN.

this morning NASA abandoned their mars rover Opportunity (aka Oppy) because it (she) got hit by a storm on Mars and it knocked her camera and wheels out and her last words to the team were “my battery is low and it is getting cold”. I know she’s a machine but I’m devastated. Oppy is the one who discovered water on Mars. RIP oppy ily space baby
they didn’t abandon her!! they tried eight months to reach her!!!! as their last farewell to her yesterday they played her “I’ll be seeing you” by Billie Holiday:

There are only around 1,500 native Cherokee speakers left, and most of them are elders
Little Cherokee Seeds is a program where mothers and babies spend all day with first language Cherokee speakers, speaking nothing but Cherokee, so that the babies become a new generation of native speakers. They’re also teaching traditional skills and mothering practices to the mothers to pass on.
This is so so important for the survival of the language. These babies are on track to being fluent first language speakers, and they will be able to keep the language going for another lifetime.
Okay not to dox myself but I live on Cherokee territory (#landback) and there are a few universities I know of that are working to restore the language among younger Natives. I’m not an expert, but I recommend checking out Dr Sara Snyder Hopkins and the incredible work she’s doing to translate old Cherokee writings so we never lose them and Dr Ben Fray who is Cherokee and fluent and teaches it to students as a revitalization effort.

Hi, a few people accused this of being AI generated and I would like to point out I actually painted this— it was inspired by how fucked up AI generated captcha images look, of course, but the final result was hand-drawn. Don’t mind that I have over 200 layers on this thing haha my painting process is a disaster
