I think we hear it so much but that a lot of the younger generations in the us dont really get why there’s such an aggressive anti smoking campaign, I think people buy into the narrative South Park has spun about it “the cigarette companies are all upfront about it and people still chose their service and everyone against smoking are just obsessive fascists” and it’s like. Genuinely, the cigarette companies are some of the most evil entities this world has ever seen. From knowing cigarettes caused cancer before anyone else and lying about it, to being the reason the majority of 50s television existed (shows like I Love Lucy existed to sell you cigarettes) to specifically making flavors of cigarettes and cartoon mascots to sell to kids. And I’m not saying that if you smoke cigarettes you’re bad but I do really want the tobacco industry abolished and have it’s wealth distributed to the society it controlled for so fucking long.

Seriously, go read about it. They did shit that manipulated the country, politics, and the lives of your parents and their parents, and likely their influence is affecting your life in this day and age still.

This is the third time I am making this post to see if I can get some kind of help!

For months now, I’ve been trying to get out of this financial hole I am in, but it keeps getting worse and worse. 

I am overdrafted, and my vision keeps getting worse since I cannot afford to get my meds. Or my glasses.

And to more injury, the tablet I used to get commissions to go by just broke, and the repairs are adding a new stain to my already fucked situation.

I relate to this so much. for years, even after I knew that I was trans, I thought that I didn’t really experience gender dysphoria. it was only after I started transitioning that I realized how much it had affected me

The first time I saw this thread (which was when I read the gender dysphoria bible, which includes this thread and I think some other tweets with trans perspectives), I cried and finally accepted I was trans because I realized it was describing my life to a T.

I had sort of known I was trans for 8 years and sort of accepted it as true without acknowledging it or allowing it to enter the forefront of my thoughts except during occasional moments of deep introspection, but I felt like I was only technically trans, but it wasn’t really impacting my life. This (along with the other stuff I read that night) made me realize I’m not an edge case or something close to but not quite trans. What I am and what trans means are the same thing.

The only thing I disagreed with was about not knowing about career goals, but that’s just because I stumbled into a couple easy defaults I could just go with.

Hi, a few people accused this of being AI generated and I would like to point out I actually painted this— it was inspired by how fucked up AI generated captcha images look, of course, but the final result was hand-drawn. Don’t mind that I have over 200 layers on this thing haha my painting process is a disaster

i live in the philippines and sinovac was the only available vaccine for MONTHS of the pandemic. people were fucking dying and we had no pfizer, no j&j, no astrazeneca, no moderna. sinovac was the ONLY vaccine supply we had. and the supply wasnt even enough for even my small city. we do not have the infrastructure to manufacture our own vaccines and tests. we were entirely reliant on imports from other countries who Did have the capacity to manufacture such things

i got up early for several days straight to go to a pop up walk in vaccination site (were talking there by 7:30am) set up in a fucking public basketball court because it was the only way to get vaccinated, and 3 times i had to go back empty handed so to speak after exposing myself to this massive opportunity for transmission because they fucking ran out of shots and prioritized the elderly and disabled and i didnt have my legal pwd (person with disability) card yet. i had to go to a different barangay (local unit of government) to get my shot MONTHS LATER and only got mine because one of my family was in the local govt and reserved some shots for us.

many filipinos use facebook which is where some of the psyop was conducted because you can use it for free on your phone and it is often where news is disseminated. i know we have that joke about People Believing Anything They See On Facebook but i cannot stress enough that people here get local news from fb the same way you (used to) get news from twitter about shit like localized emergencies and whatnot.

All COVID vaccinations were done through the public sector and you couldn’t choose which vaccine you took – which these sectors used to fuel a bunch of distrust over a truly good vaccination campaign. My grandma used to call me before I got each vaccine telling me “tell them to give you the english vaccine!!” like that by itself had some merit.

People from the US think it’s conspiracy and don’t understand how their country just again and again organise these massive psyops that either divide our populations, introduce problems and sections that weren’t there before and/or implant puppet goverments just so they can have an easier access to our resources, land and bodies.

can i be so honest? i don’t really understand why some people seem to hate it so much when romanceable video game characters are “playersexual”/always bi or pan/always attracted to the player character. like yeah of course gay/lesbian representation is really important, i don’t think i have to stress that point at all, but if games have romance options specifically, doesn’t it just make the most sense to have them be bi/pan? because everyone wins? it’s so refreshing to be able to romance any character regardless of your own in-game gender in games like bg3 after coming from games like fire emblem where you’re forced to be straight or have extremely limited gay options. and most obviously, bi/pan representation is also important. there isn’t a finite amount of space for queer representation in fiction, and i don’t see any harm in making specifically romanceable characters bisexual for the sake of inclusion/player satisfaction rather than having distinct individual sexualities. it’s not like all fictional characters should be forced to be bisexual. like is there something i’m missing or are people just weird about bisexuals
