Queer people look many ways. Make Pride something we can all enjoy—but make it clear that means “you are one part of a multifaceted community and other community members will be present,” not “we will cater exclusively to you.”

I'll keep it simple. I'm (28M) essentially stuck in a timeloop repeating the end of the world; I'm currently on the third repetition of it.
I was crossing the bridge shortly after restarting the loop when a man (M, seemed around my age) that I had never seen in any previous turns appeared, needing my help. Not only did he need my help, however, but he knew entirely too much about me, about the world we were in for it to be safe. He claimed to be a prophet.
To test his future sight abilities, I carried him across the bridge, and held him off the ledge, asking whether I would drop him or not. He taunted me and told me I'd drop him, so I let him go, and fall into the water and mouth of a monster beneath the bridge.

I want to remind people that questioning who is tying people to tracks does not untie the people who are already tied to tracks or stop the train in time to save them.
This isn’t to say you shouldn’t question who is tying people to tracks.
But asking a question does not negate the need for action. You still have to act now and choose whichever one of the shitty options currently available to you will result in fewer immediate deaths if you want to have the opportunity to ask questions in the future. Because in order for a question to be answered, it must be loud enough to be heard, and in order for it to be loud enough to be heard, enough people have to ask it, and in order for there to be enough people to ask it, those people have to be fucking alive. Dead people can’t question anything. They’re fucking dead.
Vote like lives depend on it, because they do.
Not only will refusal to vote do nothing to save anyone currently in imminent danger, but it will actually put more even people in danger in the future and make it even harder to save them.

Cities and government agencies HATE bad press. This story that was told to me by the journalist that covered this, and he showed us the piece:
There was a traffic light that was set up on the far side of an overpass, but it was improperly hung so you couldn’t see the light until it was too late. There were accidents there EVERY SINGLE DAY and calls to the city did NOTHING.
Someone had the idea to call the local news station and this dude went out to see. As he was interviewing someone, there was a wreck.
Guess what happened after that piece aired?
Suddenly the city had the time to lower the traffic light and the accidents stopped.
Journalists get a bad rep, and while big stations like Fox deserve it, I think more thought should be given to who you’re actually shitting on when you say “I hate journalists.” Because we’re overworked, underpaid, constantly shit on, but we still do the job because we want to help people. All professional, prestigious journalists that I’ve met hate the government and will do whatever they can to get the information and change that’s needed. Being a journalist is a dangerous profession: at every professional convention I’ve been at there’s a fund for the families of journalists that have been killed (there’s a lot!) and a long memoriam roll.
