14 hours a day work and 7-9 hours sleep a night leaves two hours to eat, shower, buy groceries, remember what fucking grass looks like, book in your therapy session for your crushing burnout, run yourself into an early grave and leave a stressed but incredibly wealthy corpse.
Or earn more than the median salary in Washington DC and have your whole life to spend it on doing the things that you enjoy.
“Do the hard things now for an easy life later.”
That easy life is called a stroke.
“You always want more for yourself”
It’s called a stroke
Also, I can still work and just have the extra 10k on top of my salary.
I’m dead certain at this point that this grindset horseshit is almost entirely performative. Like this bluecheck fuckwit clearly believes that there’s a correct answer here even if she doesn’t explicitly say so in her post; her fellow grindset idiots will be tripping over themselves to brag about how many dozens of hours they spend working every day and for how much money, but it’s the Emperor’s New Clothes all the way down and anyone who points out that the grindsetter is naked [read: leading an exhausting, joyless life and heading for a miserable early death] is immediately branded a fool by their fellows.
Don’t be a fucking chump. Your time is non-refundable. There is nothing more valuable in life than that.
Shout out to anyone that ever made a character that’s a ‘Secret
Government experiment’ that escapes the lab and is now wanted and
misunderstood.
That’s top tier character design, thank you.
“look, I know I live in a propaganda bubble, but you’d have to be brain poisoned to not believe in said propaganda”
The entire southern half of the peninsula may still be occupied by a regime originally imposed by a foreign power and run by groups who consistently advocate for the destruction of the entire economic and political structure of the DPRK. They may still be allowing said foreign power that has shown itself to be incredibly hostile towards any form of socialism or communism to host tens of thousands of military bases on the peninsula and conduct constant drills with the ROK where they act out fantasies of a renewed war with the North. They may engage in constant acts of sabotage, espionage and propaganda against the DPRK and its citizens. They may be aiding the brutal economic blockade of the DPRK that has been at the root of its issues with poverty since the collapse of the Soviet bloc. But have you considered that maybe the DPRK should just give up? The poverty and corruption in the South might be bad, but is preventing your country from being exploited by capitalism really worth the cost of not having a capitalist party to vote for? The US soldiers might rape local women at alarming rates, but is denying them a victory over your country really worth not having a McDonalds in Pyongyang? Obviously the DPRK is just an irrational dictatorship with no clear motives other than hanging onto power, and the only reason the people haven’t risen up against them is because of magic communist brainwashing.
INCREDIBLY funny to me when western “socialists” act like MLs are a “cult” that live in a “different reality”, as if MLs aren’t the largest group of socialists worldwide and the only actual successful socialists in history.
I’ll be real, I don’t like lenin and view him as a result of fascist ideas influencing marxist ideals in a way that defeats the entire fuckin’ point by reintroducing all that fascist strongman shit.
I’m not in the habit of resting on my biases though, most of this impressionbwas fir ed through discussion outside of the ML circles and I’ve never directly talked to an ML to get their explanation of their whole deal.
what’s the deal? why is this so popular, and if it’s something you can answerx why is there such a common accusation of fascist ideology against your platform?
take your time to respond, time isn’t real and I like treating the internet more like longform letter writing than a direct conversational medium these days.
You’re so completely wrong about Lenin and everything he ever said wrote or did that it doesn’t even merit debunking. You might as well have said “well I don’t know anything about this Lenin fella, but I sure don’t like his vibes! Prove me wrong!”
”We condemn the human violations done by the state Israel. And its attacks on the freedom of the press. This is why we have temporary halted this segment of this broadcast.”
Markipliers Iron Lung is finished, premiered in Texas
(source: @realmomiplier on instagram)
According to this announcement from Markipliers mother, aka Momiplier, Iron Lung is finished and was premiered on May 12th in Texas, where it was filmed, a screening attended by family and friends.
According to her, Mark told his mom that he would finish the film on mother’s day, and it turns out he accomplished that goal!
Congrats to Mark and the rest of the Iron Lung team–we can’t wait to see it!
This orangutan had lots of fun with the sunglasses and the zookeepers managed to get her to trade the sunglasses for some leafy greens when she was done with them. Items like this are not ideal in primate enclosures because they can break and/or ingest pieces, so the orangutan got to have her fun and (not) eat it too.
“You can portray bad things in fiction if it’s done in a negative light!”
maybe this is just me, but the author shouldn’t have to hold your hand & tell you explicitly that what’s happening in the story is bad.
Sometimes, the narration of the story portrays it as good, or “romanticizes” it because the character narrating is a terrible person. That doesn’t mean the author condones it, it means the *character* thinks it’s okay!
You should have enough critical thinking skills & media literacy to reach that conclusion on your own, and if you don’t, I recommend Disney Junior for your viewing pleasure, rather than adult content.
Don’t worry, they’ll tell you exactly the lesson they want you to learn over there, in painfully explicit detail.
I cannot stop thinking about that being the REAL Gabriel in the TLAES episode and the whole idea that, immediately after getting his ass beat by V1, he decides to try and lick his wounds by bullying a SMALLER blue robot and then still gets his ass beat,, WITH ONLY HOURS LEFT TO LIVE??? what a dumbass i love him
the genocide in gaza has been going on for 6 months and there is rarely a day i don’t think about it or post anything on any of my social media accounts.
i can’t not post about gaza and bring awareness.
and i can’t believe that none of my friends have shared anything, and i’m upset with how little my siblings and mother have.
i’ve known about isntreal’s violent treatment towards palestinians for years. and even back then i was shocked people didn’t give a shit or know about it, which wasn’t their fault. western media is bullshit propaganda that purposely does not educate… so i was like “ok i can see how you wouldnt know about this.”
but now day after day, we are witnessing this ethnic cleansing, while palestininas are living it and for people to say they “don’t know much” about it, or they aren’t educated enough or blah blah.
you have 0 excuses. people are protesting all over the world, palestinians are sharing what is going on all over social media. students are setting up encampments, people have blocked ships, disrupted political events, set themselves on fire..
you had 0 excuses at the beginning of this and you have even less excuses now at month 6
i am so sick of people being willfully ignorant and playing dumb, just admit you didn’t care at the start of this, and you don’t care now. your apathy is disgusting. your indifference is vile.
I’m about to expose the men. Whenever you ask a man’s height, he’ll add an inch. So if he’s 6 foot, he’ll say he’s 6’1 and if he’s 6’2, he’ll say he’s 6’3.
Not me though. I subtract 4. I say I’m 5’9. Especially when there’s other men in the room. And then I just watch them panic. Not only have you exposed his lie, but now he thinks he’s 5’3.
i don’t expect this to be very widely known but here in vancouver we’ve had a barge stuck on shore since mid november
we’re going on day 25 of barge simpson not moving a damn inch and i for one hope it never moves
They put up a sign
WHAT
Ever Given fans reading this post like:
I think it’s really important, for non-Vancouverites, that you know some additional layers of the joke to this, because this shit’s got history:
One of our parks has an abstract statue in it of someone reclining.
In Nov 2012, an artist made a sign as a joke, “Dude Chilling Park”, which looked exactly like our official Parks Board signs (except for the official park boards seal).
The Vancouver Parks Board removed the sign but, after a whole lot of petitions, they put in an official one a year and a half later, also “Dude Chilling Park”, but now with the proper seal attached.
Fast forward 7 years later. We have horrible floods. A barge washes up on Sunset Beach and gets grounded there. It has yet to be removed.
The Vancouver Parks Board, unprompted, adds a “Barge Chilling Beach” sign.
another underappreciated tumblr feature that you dont get on other sites is the queue. i love it when something i thought was funny six months ago and then forgot about a week later crawlts its way out of the processing vortex and i get to see it all over again.
you should queue this post it would be funny and grant me immortality
you motherfuckers put me in the processing vortex
How was the processing vortex, was it fun? It looked like it would be fun.
leitmotifs never get old to me like holy shit dude there’s this melody that corresponds to this one guy and if you hear the melody it means the guy is there. holy shit. and sometimes it refers to ideas too not just guys. has anyone heard about this
Sometimes something fucked up happens to the guy and their melody gets fucked up too. Sometimes the thing that fucked them up also has its own melody and when the first melody gets fucked up the second melody gets mixed in
Palestinians are trying to rebuild their lives in Northern and Central Gaza as the occupation focuses its genocidal war machine on the South, particularly Rafah
I love the indomitable human spirit and people’s will to persist
““Mother,” I slowly repeated in Korean. “I am not a boy. I am a girl. I am transgender.” My face reddened, and tears blurred my vision. I braced myself for her rejection and the end to a relationship that had only begun. Silence again filled the room. I searched my mother’s eyes for any signs of shock, disgust or sadness. But a serene expression lined her face as she sat with ease on the couch. I started to worry that my words had been lost in translation. Then my mother began to speak. “Mommy knew,” she said calmly through my friend, who looked just as dumbfounded as I was by her response. “I was waiting for you to tell me.” “What? How?” “Birth dream,” my mother replied. In Korea some pregnant women still believe that dreams offer a hint about the gender of their unborn child. “I had dreams for each of your siblings, but I had no dream for you. Your gender was always a mystery to me.” I wanted to reply but didn’t know where to begin. My mother instead continued to speak for both of us. “Hyun-gi,” she said, stroking my head. “You are beautiful and precious. I thought I gave birth to a son, but it is OK. I have a daughter instead.””
Many lgbt teenagers and young adults growing up on the internet today have socially conservative beliefs that they voice at all times that they got from their conservative parents which they’ve never challenged because they think the life experience of being gay or trans makes them politically progressive
This is why I hate it when people say something homophobic and then go “so you’re really accusing me, a whole ass lesbian, of being homophobic 🙄” like yeah
There’s a model of culture that I like to cite for this idea, called the Iceberg Model:
The LGBT youth (and young atheists, too) will cut off the stuff “above the water” but not really examine the stuff down below that line that they have as part of their upbringing.
So you get young LGBT people making comments like OP cited, or young atheists acting with an Evangelical persecution complex, and going, “Don’t call me Culturally Christian!”
This is the sort of thing I keep talking about when I’m saying identity is not the same as ideology.
Who you identify as (who you are) says absolutely nothing about what you believe (your ideology).
Same goes for any subcategory.
“I can’t be racist, I’m black.” If you’re making “ching-chong” jokes about Asian people, you’re still racist.
“I’m can’t be misogynistic, I’m a trans woman.” If you’re slut-shaming sex workers, you’re misogynistic.
“I can’t be queerphobic, I’m non-binary.” If you’re saying bi/pan/trans people can’t bring their hetero partner to Pride, gueeeess what.
Punching down within your own culture is still punching down.
Also people disagreeing with you doesn’t mean they’re any kind of -phobic if the argument has nothing to do with your identity. You’d think this is obvious but some insecure/unhealed people really do use that attack against others as soon as they encounter any disagreement or conflict. And the tone of discourse these days encourages people to believe those accusations without questioning.

Just realised I never posted this short comic I made in 2019! Some of the art is a little wonky because I had to rush this out in a couple of weeks for a zine fair I was attending. I think my digital art skills have improved a bit since then.
I’m not the first person to suggest that cats are staring at something we can’t see when they stare into space but I thought it would make a fun comic idea. This was also inspired by a picture book I read a lot as a kid- Slobcat by Paul Geraghty, which had a similar narrative style though obviously without the horror elements.
Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed my comic please consider supporting my work by buying something from my store or donating via Ko-Fi!
