My latest comic for The Nib was written by my friend Mike Thompson- it’s his first published comics work!
The Nib has been a steady source of income and a huge support to me and many other indie cartoonists for years. They publish amazing work, but will be cut loose by their financial backer in July. You can read the official post about it from editor Matt Bors here.
They are still running their kickstarter-funded print magazine, but have to put digital publishing on hiatus until they figure out their next steps.

Tumblr adding polls was the best thing because it doesn’t matter what you’re asking, tumblr users LOVE sharing their opinions. You could ask something wildly abstract like “What cardinal direction do you associate with the person you reblogged this from?” and by the end of the day it’ll have 20k notes and there’s probably some kind of discourse happening in the replies.

PLEASE. DO NOT COME OUT UNLESS YOU KNOW OR ARE DECENTLY SURE YOUR FAMILY/FRIENDS/ETC ARE SUPPORTIVE AND THAT YOU WILL BE SAFE.
This is for the best. Put your safety over your wanting to be out. As someone who came out because they felt obligated to in a not-so-safe home environment, don’t do it unless you’re sure you’ll be safe and supported. I (and many other folks) want the best for you.

It’s always kind of funny when I go to reblog something from someone and tumblr tells me I’m not allowed because I’m blocked and then I look at the url and I have absolutely no recollection of any conflict I may have had with that person.
Like. The options are limited. Either A: I blocked that person for being a shithead on anon or B: they blocked me for a reason I do not know. Did one of my posts offend them? Were the vibes just off? Did someone tell them some mostly bullshit rumor about me? The world may never know.
Anyway if you ever tag me in someone else’s post and then I don’t reblog or comment on it there’s a good chance I either didn’t see it bc tumblr eats my mentions OR that this exact situation happened.
Sometimes I’ll notice an unfamiliar user has me blocked, and then I’ll take a look at their blog to see if I’ve ever interacted with them, and 99% of the time I haven’t, but their blog is filled with super radfemmy anti-transmasc posts. So I think I know why I’m blocked for those people lol
Depending on the blog it might be a similar thing with the people blocking you, because I have seen weird anti-transmasc blocklists going around again.
If we ran more trains on long distance routes and increased capacity for sleeper rooms on the trains, the price of tickets could be cheaper and schedules would be better, which would raise ridership helping to give politicians evidence that rail benefits the citizens meaning rail gets better funding so we can provide better service
Basically what I am saying is we need at minimum twice daily trains on the California Zephyr and preferably closer to 4 or 5 daily RTs
This would significantly help the cities along long distance routes like Denver, Salt Lake City and Reno to have better and more usable transit as people would have multiple options for when to leave their homes, which would significantly boost ridership as these are not small cities by any means
There is enough ridership to get 22 daily flights from Denver to Salt Lake City, there is more than enough to justify 5 daily trains between the 2 cities even if the train would be slowrr
