She is a brazilian sculptor and artist who is probably one of the best creators of gore in formal art I’ve ever seen. Here’s some more of her work.
She loves exploring portuguese tiling, and her work includes eras that are solely focused on tiles.
She has also went through phases where she explored cracks in ink and in tiling
And of course that evolved into bloody cracks and slashes on tiles, like the walls are living beings
Which then became her iconic meat walls, but I also love her pool paintings, it’s a completely different kind of unsettling more akin to liminal spaces

I use ibis paint, I use the default brushes (digital, oil hair for painting, felt tip, and watercolor brush) I use the blur and smudge tool to render my work and I use the built in textures to add that paper feel to my art(dirty paper texture and drawing paper texture) have fun!!!!

i would literally be the worst creepypasta protagonist. i would find an evil haunted copy of mario 64 and i’d boot it up and see mario’s face distorted nightmarishly and the title would be “SUPER MARIO DEAD 96” and i’d be like “wow what a cool romhack with no information about it anywhere online i can’t believe i found such a rare and beautiful thing” and there’d be blood everywhere and the overworld music would be screeching static intercut with barely audible whispering so i record it and play it backwards and the whispering is just “DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH” and the spectrogram i generated is a small open-mouthed screaming face with empty eyes (which should be impossible considering the audio contents don’t correspond with the image at all, and the picture is strangely clear) and i’m like “wow such amazing attention to detail this must’ve taken so much work” and all the levels are named like ‘sector: EPITAPH’ with no enemies and untextured 3d primitives in an endless gray expanse soundtracked by slowed down n64 synthesizers and i’d say “wow this uncanny emptiness captures such a harrowing side of nostalgia, it really conveys this haunting impression of a missing or dead inner child or something” and then mario turns to the camera and starts listing off the coordinates of my current location and i’m like “wow they even put a geolocator in this thing” and i play the game nonstop because i’m absolutely enraptured by this strange and scary piece of art and i want to keep exploring it but then this ghostly kid emerges from the cartridge in a brilliant ray of light because it turns out by playing the game i gave this sad dead child an outlet to express his anger and grief and through my unconditional love and enjoyment of the game i’ve allowed this kid to play his favorite game one last time and so he vanishes, smiling, and now no one will ever believe me because all i have is this normal cartridge of mario 64 with the name “ANDREW” scrawled in sharpie on the back

I tried to find the podcast where I first heard about archaeology in Israel, and in Jerusalem specifically. I thought it was NPR, but if it was I wasn’t able to find it again. The TLDR was that Israeli archaeologists look for anything that legitimizes Israel’s presence there, so they search specifically for Jewish evidence, and discard everything else. Jewish, Christian, and Muslim groups have lived in Jerusalem in peace for centuries, but evidence of that is being thrown away as irrelevant to the aim of these digs. One of the big technical criticisms of these archaeological digs is that it’s bad archaeology. When you’re trying to investigate the past, you dig deep and vertically, trying to avoid damaging the layers as much as you can. These archaeologists dig horizontally, destroying much of the evidence of other cultural groups’ existences in the process.

So I got out some chip dip (and the smallest paint brush I have) to test it out. they used to make smackable technology. you used to be able to hit your tv when it didn’t work good.
when I was a kid I had an old tv in my room that would always turn to unwatchable static in the middle of shows but one night my sister and I were watching Naruto & every time Kakashi was on-screen the static cleared so we were like “hahaha the tv looooves Kakashi.”
I had a Kakashi bookmark so we held it up against the screen as a joke but the static actually cleared up. Mystified, we tried different bookmarks and objects with the same plastic material but nothing else worked, only the Kakashi bookmark.
We ended up taping it to the corner of the screen and it stayed there for 11 years until we moved out. When I was older people would be like “can you move the bookmark off the screen” bc it did sort of block a bit of the view but I would demonstrate the static issue and everyone was always just like “huh. what the hell?? well…alright.”
