This is probably the most culturally important thing I’ll ever seen in my lifetime if I’m being honest. I want this affixed over my mantle, embroidered into my denim, and emblazoned into my flesh so that generations to come may never forget this 1938 gem of an illustration. Put this on my gravestone and name my children after Alfo Di Gennaro. This is what it’s all about.
Artist was obviously a leg man, but I have never seen a female alien love interest designed as THIS alien before. She’s uniquely hairy, bugged-eyed, lines would indicate at least a partial exoskeleton, she has escaped being saddled with the mammories that a non-mammal being would not have, yet she’s got it bad for Space Force Leatherhead and he is so into her. I can practically hear his prose of her cabochon eyes of nebula violet, glowing with the passion to know and be known, in the starlight. The green of her body turning more vivid as discovery (and carnal knowledge) consume her conscious mind.
To suggest a red-blooded, human man could love Greedo’s cousin? Desire her??

let me reiterate. an active duty air force member burned himself alive because he was so disgusted by what the us government was openly supporting. he live-streamed his own suicide, so the whole world could bear witness as a man in his military uniform set himself on fire to protest his government’s complicity in the horrors that we have all been forced to watch happen in real time. he became a new horror. footage of the immolation blurs him out the moment the fire catches, but you can hear him. it is over in seconds, really, but you can hear him screaming. he shouts “free palestine” until his body physically cannot make any sounds other than guttural screams of agony. and then he falls silent. a police officer arrives and points a gun at his still burning body, shouting at him to get down on the ground. and it is over.
his name was Aaron Bushnell. he was twenty five years old. and he isn’t here anymore because the political ruling class has decided that genocide is perfectly fine as long as it preserves imperialism. in the coming days, people will try to discredit him. to say that he was mentally unstable. they will try to bury his actions to save face and defend israel’s propaganda. do not let them. aaron knew what he was doing. he knew what he was doing when he put on his military uniform, set up his twitch stream, and made his final walk up to the embassy. he knew what would happen to him when he flicked that lighter. do not let them forget. aaron’s blood is on the hands of the political ruling class.
yesterday I got the “are you a boy or are you a girl” question from a six-year-old, and I told her that some people aren’t boys or girls (like me!) I was expecting her to be a little confused, but she nodded thoughtfully and said, “wow, just like snails.”
C-3PO makes me laugh because you have to remember he was assembled by a child out of things from a scrap heap. Everything about him makes sense if you bear that in mind. Anakin wanted a droid who could help his mother, but the only AI package he could find was one somebody threw out for being too fussy. The combination of tweaking to give him a worried/caring personality makes him constantly anxious. A protocol droid comes with a fair amount of language packages, but why stop there? Somebody threw out like, three different galactic language dictionaries because they weren’t the recent edition. Just load ‘em all up. all of them, even the packs that contain things like ewok and a thousand variants of different manufacturers’ droid codecs. don’t add half the other requirements most legal protocol droids have included at the factory like emergency wipe protocols or shutdown failsafes, or programmed obsolescence. Build that sucker out of non-commercial materials that are already over a hundred years old and still good, tweak it to withstand tatooine of all places.
so now you have this droid that is over thirty years old and it could never be obsolete because it was never manufactured by anybody but a kid on a sand ball somewhere, it’s never running down because it was built to last on tatooine and there’s nothing programmed in to try and urge you to buy the latest model because there is no latest model. 3P0 is simultaneously totally useless yet hyper functional because he was not made according to any specs except “the best most toughest things possible to help my mom for a long long time on a hot desert planet”
I like to imagine, after Luke and Co. were on the Death Star getting Leia out, any time Vader and the engineers get into an argument about construction, Vader just pulls up the security footage of 3PO, goes “I built that droid when I was 12 and he just helped an important prisoner escape. I think I MIGHT just be better at this than you.”

I’ve thought long and hard about how or even if I should celebrate this. I thought about making a sequel and I’ve had people ask if I would but in full honesty, I don’t think I should. WCAY is not something, in my eyes, that can have any kind of true follow up or continuation. I think the story ends here.
I could never have predicted the size this project would reach. Thousands of plays, a few pieces of fanart, a video narration, and even a damn TV tropes page. Nothing I’ve ever made had EVER reached this magnitude. The WCAY blog has received so many kind messages that make me feel so incredibly honored.

And for a while I WANTED it that way. I was… Ashamed. So many people loving and praising my work for being so deep and poetic but in truth I’m not a poet, I’m not a philosopher, I’m not even that good of a writer. I’m some mediocre tumblr shitposter. Most of the time I even hate symbolic media. In full honesty I can’t tell you why I made the quiz. It’s been so long now, all I really remember is thinking it would be a cool idea. But despite all that it touched so many people and even caused some to cry. Despite what my intentions were I can’t say the quiz didn’t have any of my real feelings in it.
I’ve thought a lot about what I wanted to do today. But judging by how much traction my old milestone post got I don’t think anything I do now will reach the same audience the quiz initially had. It’s past its prime, that’s just how it is. I’m okay with that.
Will I ever make something like this again? I don’t know. I’m a comedian at heart, not whatever my brain was going through when I made this lol.

The funds should not have been taken away to begin with. This was and remains a mass collective punishment of Palestinian people -just like the continued abstaining or vetoing of a ceasefire in Gaza by zionist supporting governments at the UN. So many of us knew the IOF was lying. That’s what they chronically do to further their settler-colonial agenda, and many countries are complicit in this -especially the US that said they wouldn’t be investigating the claims but that it could be ‘plausible’ but they could not confirm if the IOF was telling the truth.

Famine is in Gaza because the IOF has been and is starving Palestinian people. 13 children…and the state of Northern Gaza is just beyond horrifying -this terrorizing occupation must end. This doesn’t just stop at a ceasefire. The IOF must be held accountable for their war crimes.
The IOF opened fire on starving civilians trying to collect food aid murdering dozens and injuring an estimated hundreds or more they then crushed some of the injured by running over them with tanks. This was their “reason.”
