Numbers don’t lie but people can sure as fuck pick and choose the numbers they give you and phrase things to make them sound like they mean things they don’t
learn fucking stats or at least how they can hurt
As a wise man once said: There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.
Gee, Tumblr would probably really hate it if you shared and spread this damning article … To the surprise of absolutely none of Tumblr’s LGBTQ users, it turns out the independent NYC human rights agency Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) found that Tumblr’s ham-fisted adult content ban in December 2018 disproportionately targeted LGBTQ users. The CCHR’s investigation revealed Tumbler’s moderation algorithms is demonstrably biased against queer content. As part of the settlement, Tumblr was obligated to review their prejudicial anti-gay moderation policies. Even more mortifyingly, they’ve also had to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide unconscious bias training to their moderators. I frankly doubt Tumblr has learned a thing from this humbling experience. Just recently the Tumblr algorithm flagged three ancient posts of mine as violating their terms. All three “offenders” were vintage homoerotic beefcake images (softcore by modern standards) roughly 50 – 65-years-old by Bruce of Los Angeles, Bob Mizer and Tom of Finland. (These are of course pioneering queer artists who routinely faced censorship and imprisonment in the fifties and sixties. Plus ca change!). They’ve been visible on my page - corrupting viewers - for years at this point. I appealed all three immediately. Only the Tom of Finland one was approved. The other two are now hidden. So, they haven’t learned much. Apparently, Tumblr – who loves to declare how hip, youthful, inclusive and progressive their values are - wants to restore trust with their queer users. I’d recommend we remember their hypocrisy when Pride rolls around and Tumblr splashes rainbow flags everywhere and attempts to pink wash their image.
In honour of Pride Month, this is worth a reblog! Don’t buy into Tumblr’s hypocritical “pink washing.”
The LGBTQ community has seen controversy regarding acceptance of different groups (bisexual and transgender individuals have sometimes been marginalized by the larger community), but the term LGBT has been a positive symbol of inclusion and reflects the embrace of different identities and that we’re stronger together and need each other. While there are differences, we all face many of the same challenges from broader society.
In the 1960′s, in wider society the meaning of the word gay transitioned from ‘happy’ or ‘carefree’ to predominantly mean ‘homosexual’ and was an umbrella term that meant anyone who wasn’t cisgender or heterosexual. The community embraced the word ‘gay’ as a mark of pride.
The modern fight for queer rights is considered to have begun with The Stonewall Riots in 1969 and was called the Gay Liberation Movement and the Gay Rights Movement.
The acronym GLB surfaced around this time to also include Lesbian and Bisexual people who felt “gay” wasn’t inclusive of their identities.
Early in the gay rights movement, gay men were largely the ones running the show and there was a focus on men’s issues. Lesbians were unhappy that gay men dominated the leadership and ignored their needs and the feminist fight. As a result, lesbians tended to focus their attention on the Women’s Rights Movement which was happening at the same time. This dominance by gay men was seen as yet one more example of patriarchy and sexism.
In the 1970′s, sexism and homophobia existed in more virulent forms and those biases against lesbians also made it hard for them to find their voices within women’s liberation movements. Betty Friedman, the founder of the National Organization for Women (NOW), commented that lesbians were a “lavender menace” that threatened the political efficacy of the organization and of feminism and many women felt including lesbians was a detriment.
In the 80s and 90s, a huge portion of gay men were suffering from AIDS while the lesbian community was largely unaffected. Lesbians helped gay men with medical care and were a massive part of the activism surrounding the gay community and AIDS. This willingness to support gay men in their time of need sparked a closer, more supportive relationship between both groups, and the gay community became more receptive to feminist ideals and goals.
Approaching the 1990′s it was clear that GLB referred to sexual identity and wasn’t inclusive of gender identity and T should be added, especially since trans activist have long been at the forefront of the community’s fight for rights and acceptance, from Stonewall onward. Some argued that T should not be added, but many gay, lesbian and bisexual people pointed out that they also transgress established gender norms and therefore the GLB acronym should include gender identities and they pushed to include T in the acronym.
GLBT became LGBT as a way to honor the tremendous work the lesbian community did during the AIDS crisis.
Towards the end of the 1990s and into the 2000s, movements took place to add additional letters to the acronym to recognize Intersex, Asexual, Aromantic, Agender, and others. As the acronym grew to LGBTIQ, LGBTQIA, LGBTQIAA, many complained this was becoming unwieldy and started using a ‘+’ to show LGBT aren’t the only identities in the community and this became more common, whether as LGBT+ or LGBTQ+.
In the 2010′s, the process of reclaiming the word “queer” that began in the 1980′s was largely accomplished. In the 2020′s the LGBTQ+ acronym is used less often as Queer is becoming the more common term to represent the community.
Ctenophores have got to be one of the most under rated denizens of the Jersey Shore. Rainbows by day, glow sticks by night. Why is everyone not hyping the ctenophore?!
Dumbass homophobe using the RAINBOWS asdfmovie gif when the actual creator of asdfmovie and this gif is pro LGBTQ+ and donating 150% of all profits to Stonewall UK to fight against transphobia
Update on this: Whenever I open a new Tumblr tab, this glitch is not present. However, when I check on another tab or play video games for a while, then come back, it reasserts itself.
The width it allows me to scroll is also inconsistent, which leads me to believe that my Tumblr dashboard, when not actively monitored, is becoming wider over time.
a great thing about people transitioning is it presents us with scenarios where we have the perfect control variable to undeniably reveal sexism in the workplace. I read about a trans man neuroscientist who was told he was “so much smarter than his sister” (his sister being his pre-transition self)
and damn i knew the gaming industry was notoriously sexist (even more sexist than other stem fields, and that’s saying a lot) but seeing it laid out so clearly like this is so demoralizing.
To whoever made this mod and to everyone who downloaded it
I hate you and you’re cowards. Fools. Weaklings. Wimps.
I’m killing each one of them with my mind. None of them deserve Karlach >:(
I feel like I need to reblog this version just in case people think that people might be using this mod because of triggers or the like.
This is sexism. Pure and simple.
If you want to go the opposite direction, there’sthis modthat changes her appearance based on this concept art of her that had much more visible facial scars:
And this mod that changes her appearance based on data mined assets from the early access days, when she looked even beefier and also had more obvious scars.
She looked downright intimidating with this mod in my play-through:
Whenever I make a joke about a trope or cliche everyone in the notes is like “Oh this is specifically about xyz story isn’t it” and they always list different stories and franchises. It’s almost like tropes and cliches are common things that appear in multiple works of fiction or something.
What’s really funny is when everyone starts naming something I’ve never heard of and they’re so sure it’s about that like buddy I’ve never met him he might just be more basic than you thought

like its not that serious etc but any time u express frustration or just point out wow people in fandom continuously prioritize men over women Here comes the fucking misogyny hydra
“maybe you should stop complaining and just make the content you want to see” perhaps, the issue at hand, is that the proportion of people who are willing to be invested in female characters and create content centering them is already small compared to the people who will create novel-length backstories for male characters with 5 minutes of screentime, meaning that even if all people involved put in the same amount of effort, the amount of content around men will always be orders of magnitude larger, and perhaps the disproportionate focus on men in the first place may be indicative of some kind of pre-existing bias, one that may, hypothetically speaking, have some name already,
Something that the Americnas of this site wont even comprehend. Shit like this happens everyday in europe and we get used to it because the alternative is some yanke bullcrab
the takes have been so bad lately i swear to god in the next 5 years were gonna get “lets reclaim eugenics theory from neo nazis i think theres good things to be had from that” as a genuine real thought someone has on this site
someones gonna say “i think alex jones could be an important figure for the left” and their followers for some reason are gonna be like “yeah you know what you might be right”
In 2025 Wikipedia will go under, a wildfire will destroy most of the campus of a local college and the next big Tumblr Sexyman is gonna be an emoji that’s into S+M.
I’m sorry if no one’s explained this to you before but a content creator telling you that their work isn’t for minors and it’s not their responsibility to jump through hoops to keep it from you is an adult looking out for kids. they’re modeling good boundaries and setting the expectation that you’ll engage with the online community like a person and take responsibility for your choices. if you cannot understand that you need to look out for yourself and take people seriously when they say their work isn’t suitable for young audiences then you are not ready to be unsupervised on the internet.
Hello everyone I’m okay and my family too al hamdulliallah. I’m sorry I’m not active because i don’t have internet. Still my bank account frozen and we still need 10k $ to register my brother and his wife so we can travel together.

The last one is: “You can take me out the fandom, but you’ll never take the bingle-bongle, dingle-dangle, yickedy-doo, yickedy-daa, ping pong, lippy-tappy-too-ta out of me!”
Also, you’d do me a huge favour reblogging this, so we get a wider sample <3
