First of all, this is genius and the sound must be on. I have a lot of comments. This was a LOT of work. Not just the animation… but the lovely and adorable handmade creatures themselves. The staging and gathering of the miniatures used, all of it. A labor of love. I am so happy to Reblog and I hope more enjoy it. Thank you so much for sharing, pretty much reset my day.
“came back wrong” but it’s food that you heated up in the microwave
OK SO
For anyone who hasn’t heard my Microwave Rant:
Microwaves are designed to be used at a broad range of power levels. If you’re getting bad results reheating your food, and you’re doing everything on full blast, try a lower power setting! 50% power for twice the time, just give it a shot. It gives the heat time to spread evenly, and prevents overcooking of parts that are exposed to more radiation.
People complain about reheated pizza a lot – that’s bc overheating the crust makes it tough and chewy. I usually do pizza on 30% power for THREE times as long because it’s especially vulnerable – and my crust always comes out nice and tender.
I think there’s a good metaphor for Came Back Wrong here too: if you actually take the time to do your necromantic ritual and/or unholy experiment right, and don’t rush it at 100% power, you’re likely to get better results.
Just over a week ago, Nintendo sued the developers of the leading Nintendo Switch emulator, Yuzu, for “facilitating piracy at a colossal scale.” Now, it appears that Yuzu will give up without a fight — and give Nintendo everything it wanted.
According to a joint filing, Tropic Haze has not only agreed to pay $2,400,000 to Nintendo but also says Yuzu is “primarily designed to circumvent and play Nintendo Switch games.” The company agrees to be permanently enjoined from working on Yuzu, hosting Yuzu, distributing Yuzu’s code or features, hosting websites and social media that promote Yuzu, or doing anything else that circumvents Nintendo’s copyright protection.
Oh, and it will surrender the yuzu-emu.org domain name to Nintendo, agree to delete not only its copies of Yuzu but also “all circumvention tools used for developing or using Yuzu—such as TegraRcmGUI, Hekate, Atmosphère, Lockpick_RCM, NDDumpTool, nxDumpFuse, and TegraExplorer,” and hand over any “physical circumvention devices” and “modified Nintendo hardware” to Nintendo. It also agrees to not delete any other “evidence” that infringes Nintendo’s IP rights.
however much you hate nintendo you don’t hate them enough
Oh so NOW it’s not okay to be stealing images. Interesting. Care to tell us where you draw the line there, champ?
Awww did they steal your work without asking??? All that hard work and time you put into making and refining your stuff??? Damnnn, that must suck to have it all stolen by an AI company that uses your hard work to make their product with no credit, just to spit out an image that isn’t even that good.
It’s always important to ask kids “what do you mean?” before potentially getting offended. Like the time a kid told me, dramatically, that he was homophobic. When asked what he meant, he told me he couldn’t breathe in crowded places.
Oh bless he tried real hard with words there
Reminds me of the time a little girl (about 4/5) playing pretend at the zoo flipped me off while telling me that “her finger got bit by an African honey badger”
“Me when I lie” is such a funny pseudo-diplomatic response to anything. Like just going “see I’m not saying that you would ever lie, but I tend to be a liar, and that would be the exact kind of thing that would come out of my mouth when I’m lying” sounds like the exact kind of quip that someone who was just described as ‘too clever for their own good’ would get stabbed over.
the leftism leaving people’s bodies when you tell them making fun of someone’s appearance is always objectively scummy even if the person they’re making fun of is bad
“lol are we really surprised that the dude who said eating puppies is good and morally correct looks like THIS” and then it’s just a picture of a completely normal looking person who is fat or has acne or just in general doesn’t meet the societally imposed standard of conventional “hotness,” which is bizarrely being posited as an indicator of morality
did i tell u guys i got into an argument on twitter bc i said foxes are dogs and someone tried to bring up their actual fuckin. classification or whatever and i just said “foxes are dogs cause they are fluffye” and they kept arguing with me. the entire time i was like “you will not survive the immigration to tumblr you are lucky we are not there right now”
This is especially funny because they aren’t even right. Foxes *ARE* dogs.
“I would kill for you. I would die for you” would you take a break for me? Would you sit down and rest? For a day, a week, a year? Would you let others take care of your needs for me? Would you let yourself be held for me? By me?

this week in I Am Very Smart: having enough money to go to the opera, museums and concerts correlates with having enough money for food, shelter and basic health needs
They controlled for socioeconomic factors though! The people who conducted this study knew that people with lots of money to attend the opera were also more likely to be able to afford basic necessities, so they controlled for it in their analysis. The fun thing about statistics is that you can control for different confounding factors so you can look at the effects of one independent variable (opera or whatever) on the dependent variable (mortality). Part of being critical of potential biases is actually reading the article and knowing what to look for.
In addition to that very good point about controlling for socioeconomic factors, the article says a single museum or concert per year makes a difference. Most cities have free community concerts (some even have free opera performances!) and museums that are either free, pay-what-you-want, or at least have specific days/times during which they are free or at a significantly reduced cost. Many libraries (which are free) provide free museum passes to card holders. In fact, the article quotes a museum worker who works at a free art museum in Baltimore.
If you actually read the article you would also read that educators are excited about this study because it provides evidence that the arts should be made more accessible financially - by restoring arts programs in the public schools, for example.
My dear @jamiebythesea I hope you don’t mind but your tags are important I don’t want them to disappear

People tend to have a very specific idea of how opera audiences look, and it’s like evening gowns from no later than 1950 and tuxedos in the Met in New York City.
Also to note: if you’re in a relatively small area, performers will probably just be happy to see people are in the audience for their performance. The majority of singers and actors don’t get to perform on stage in front of thousands of people. They appreciate any audience they have.
I feel like there’s two levels of chronically online. There’s like, the variety where you recognize obscure memes and stupid drama and post constantly but have some sort of tether to reality and have friends in the real world and read the news from time to time, and then there’s the kind where you genuinely don’t realize that your political position or feelings about popular media are not just non-mainstream but actively fringe and that it’s not emotional labor to pick people up from the airport.
has everyone gotten their knee-jerk reactions to palworld out. can i throw my two cents in
speaking as both an artist and a game dev student, the fact that people were so quick to jump to pocket pair’s (the company behind palworld) defense in regards to ripping off pokemon was highly concerning. even though there is evidence that they have literally ripped at least one model from pokemon directly.
and there is also no denying they have taken at least some “inspiration” regarding their other designs.
and a lot of people may go “there’s no problem, they’re ripping off nintendo who is a huge company”. well, if they can get away with ripping off nintendo, what happens when they start ripping off smaller companies?
at first glance, what game do you think this is? nope, it’s not actually hollow knight. this is pocket pair’s upcoming game “never grave: the with and the curse”. hollow knight was made by only three people. that is a far cry from nintendo’s massive company.
and although usage of ai generation may not be used in palworld, the company its from is no stranger to using ai art for their other games.
palworld exists as a novelty, haha funny pokemon game but with guns. but the moment you look into it, the company its from does some shady things. personally i would not want to support a company like it
You also forgot the part where Pocket Pair plagiarized fan pokemon designs with no compensation or credit.
That Mega Delphox was originally drawn by an artist by the name of pyroaura98 (their DA is down so here’s a repost, as unfortunate as I had to do this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/320037117242282149/)

For some additional context, staff has now retroactively removed the photos, hours after I first reblogged this post and when Predstrogen had already been banned. Covering your tracks, hm, @staff ? They were completely innocent photos, so fuck right off.
in case you were wondering what the pics were. staff really does just fucking hate trans women
