I’m surprised that he had the audacity (or delusion?) to even say that on a big publication.

Teachers make only a fraction of what he earns, and he is so eager to rob us of our livelihood in the false name of pushing humanity forward with “free” education. He’s only fooling himself.
I used to love Duolingo. I have had my account for nearly seven years now, but it has continually downgraded ever since, with its latest UI being so anti-neurodivergent. I quit after reaching an achievement, and I won’t be coming back. I’m going to miss it, though.

They are not people. You cannot “objectify” them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot “disrespect” them, because they are not real.
An equal and opposite truth:
The actors, directors, writers, etc that create this characters are people.
They are real. They exist independent of the characters and your opinions. You have no right to them, their opinions, or their relationships. They have no responsibility to you. You cannot force them to follow your fantasy.

Certainly not. You see, the great powers of Europe have entered into a series of mutual defense agreements which, should war break out between any two European nations, would require the whole continent to take up arms against each other. No civilised nation would do any such thing, the loss of life incurred would be too great.
Oh, heavens no, this can’t be right! The plan for lasting peace was flawless. But even if war has broken out I’m sure it will be over shortly. Modern weaponry makes a protracted campaign infeasible as the common soldier may simply advance under cover of heavy fire and rapidly overwhelm the enemy.
It will be all over by Christmas, surely!
Such a swift war will surely have no long-lasting negative consequences and the patriotic spirit raised by the war will surely stabilize empires such as Russia and Austria and the Ottomans!
Okay so I just got off the phone with them. I talked to a trans girl named Aurora & she was super helpful! She gave me a few doctors to talk to & encouraged me to seek therapy instead of just rushing to get my pills. The fact that we, Arabic-speaking average people(aka non-journalists), have to keep up with translating Palestinian posts from Arabic to English to avoid having Western Media/Pro-Zionists mistranslate on purpose, says enough about how we all lost trust in the media. From the “there’s a list” guy who was standing in front of a calendar and condemning the days of the week, to the BBC’s mistranslation of a freed Palestinian hostage’s interview. I will try my best to keep translating whatever I can find, and I encourage my fellow bilingual/multilingual Arabs to do the same. It’s already sad enough that Palestinian journalists and even children have to use English in videos instead of their native tongue in order to get the world leaders’ attention.
