Hearing constantly about gifted autistic kids and people seeing it as THEE autistic trait has completely disregarded those who aren’t gifted and made a HUGE divide in the community. Seeing constantly “yeah autistic people are usually gifted” is so annoying because a VERY large chunk of autistic people, aren’t actually gifted and media has just put the gifted people at the front because they’re more palatable. The “autistic gifted kid burnout” has become more so a trend than anything and I’ve seen a lot of people assume they’re autistic because they are the “gifted kid burnout person” when that isn’t even a requirement for an autism diagnosis. You don’t have to be gifted to be autistic. You don’t have to be!!
Start putting the people who struggle more in the spotlight. Those with intellectual disabilities, those with learning disabilities, those with cognitive disabilities, those who are just generally stereotypically “dumb” and embrace it!
We need to have a very big discussion about this as a community and it needs to start today.
Not to mention that those with higher support needs who aren’t gifted are completely seen as lesser because they aren’t gifted.
People automatically assume that higher support needs people, especially those who are nonverbal/nonspeaking are hiding this special talent that will wow the world.

It’s tragic to me that the video games industry could be unfathomably successful and provide so many jobs if CEOs took a pay cut and executives stopped pushing for multimillion dollar budgeted hyper realistic 400 gameplay-hour 10 year dev cycle games. i mean if anyone is looking for good news my treatment really is working and i’m about to drop down to a less frequent schedule. my tumor is barely ¼th the size it was in october. by april I’ll be done and i’ll be getting surgery to scrape the very last bit out (plus a mastectomy while they’re at it) and then radiation to make sure it’s mega dead and will never come back.

We don’t talk about acid rain because there isn’t any more acid rain because when acid rain started happening and we learned that the cause was mainly sulphur oxide and carbon monooxide from car exhausts, countries all over the world made it a law that car companies had to produce cars that produced less exhaust with better effectivenes (burning the fuel all the way to CO2 instead of the halfassed CO) and oil rafineries to remove the sulphur from the gasoline in the first place.
We don’t talk about computers crashing because of the turn of the century, because thousands of programmers worked very hard to write updates and patches for Every Single Program humanity as a whole used back in 1999 and then somehow managed to failtest, distribute, and update every single device and system, be it an online or offline one before the midnight of the 1st january of 2000.
On a much smaller scale, no one ever commenta or notices cleaners and housekeepers doing their job - be it at home or at whole buildings - because they always make sure that there’s nothing to notice. But don’t be fooled - at any point of your life you are one week of them not doing away from swimming in trash and filth with nothing to eat and nothing clean to wear. Only then you would notice.

The zionists have turned the Earth, the sky, the water, and people’s own homes against them, time and time again. The Western media frames this as something merely factual, something that happens the same way the sun comes up every morning. By doing so, they make themselves look helpless instead of complicit.
It is true that the Palestinians are brave, resourceful people. I’ve heard that since food has been banned, they are converting pellets into sustenance. They create camps and substitutes for shelter and survival. They are by no means, weak.
But that doesn’t mean we leave them to fend for themselves. Not the men. Not the women. Not the children. Not the babies. Not the unborn. Not the citizens buried alive. Not the dead, who have their organs stolen. Not the animals who shake when they hear bombings. Not the Muslims or the Christians or anyone who isn’t a Zionist. Nobody should be considered expendable.
For me, not giving up on the Palestinians means to not stop writing about them. What does it mean for you?
