ant mimic spider: Wow! I love hanging out with my fellow ants! So fun to interact with other ants (like myself, a real ant) with my totally normal antennae!
ant mimic beetle: Totally! So, great and fun to be an ant. (And to be so very ant-shaped and not at all thick around the middle.) We are both excellent anty ants.
ant mimic wasp: Oh YES. I agree too! Totally. And we all have such nice svelte waists and jointed antennae. Ha ha. Normal antennae. ANTennae, if you will! I love being a valid and real ant. Ha ha ha.
ant mimic spider: Ha ha ha.
ant mimic beetle: Ha ha… hm.
spider: There are no ants here … are there?
beetle: God dammit.

‘Fidel Castro didn’t send ONLY gay men to forced labour camps’ isn’t the epic socialist comeback you think it is

“Military Units to Aid Production or UMAPs were agricultural forced labor camps operated by the Cuban government from November 1965 to July 1968 in the province of Camagüey. The UMAP camps served as a form of forced labor for Cubans who could not serve in the military due to being conscientious objectors, Christians and other religious people, LGBT, or political enemies of Fidel Castro or his communist revolution. I’ll say it again, truscum are the worst possible people. It’s like a more acceptable version of being a transphobe because you get to pretend like you’re following science. Keep in mind that some of their tactics are to never define gender dysphoria. I’ve talked about this on my old account, but my experience with a truscum is just horrid. I was convinced that my friends were being groomed by openly trans positive spaces, and that they weren’t really trans because one of them didn’t feel comfortable with blackmarket HRT. The amount of doubt a truscum places in your head because you may feel as though your “mild” gender dysphoria means nothing and is completely normal. Nobody really explained to me when I was an ally how complicated it is being trans, and that not everyone should be on hormone replacement therapy. It’s a daunting thing, and it’s a change that is semi permanent. Just because you want to wait a bit longer, or not take it at all does not invalidate your identity. The same is with SRS, it’s daunting. There’s long waiting lines for both, and it can be a nightmare depending on your medical team. You may not even feel bottom dysphoria and might not elect for the procedure, again perfectly valid. Transmedicalists will demonize this though, and will make you feel like you are a fake, and that you’re not truly trans because you don’t want to go all in with life altering procedures.

you arent going to be capable of any meaningful kind of solidarity with anyone if your response to new perspectives or information is to pretend you already knew.

if you cant say things like “i hadnt thought about it that way” or “thats a good point” (or even, god forbid “thanks for checking me on that”) when theyre appropriate, consider whether youre actually interested in developing your understanding or if youre just invested in your political self image.

(also people generally can tell if ur lying and its embarrassing + failure to admit fault will make you profoundly spiritually brittle btw)

honestly advertising is so fukcing wasteful not even just in the convincing you to buy shit you never actually wanted but like

how much electricity is wasted displaying ads that could’ve gone to keeping houses warm. How much paper is produced just to be turned into pamphlets and ads that will just be thrown away. how much internet bandwith is wasted just on the amount of ads that are on the internet nowadays. How many hours worth of labor went into producing ads that are going directly into my adblocker or my waste bin that could’ve been time spent doing literally ANYTHING useful?

I spent like 5 hours editing this gif frame by frame to make this shitty edit that I wanted to exist

@neonicclover your tag gave me a chuckle because if I was a sensible digital artist you would be right, but Im actually an insane traditional artist who is too used to working without layers, so no. There was never a version with just the F because I did the removing of the original text and addition of my own text all directly onto the original frame layers.

HOWEVER. There is this version that I made by accident which does a bounce loop right before the text appears

i wish people didn’t make it seem like your options for medically transitioning as a nb/gq person are “do nothing” or “the binary opposite of whatever you started with”

#genuinely curious though: what are your other options?#there is no androgynizing hormone#it is just T or E#if you’re talking about surgeries you are correct though

There is no “third hormone” but there are ways of going on HRT that are not the typical binary way.

Microdosing, for one, as well as going on HRT for a certain amount of time before stopping, which can leave you with certain effects but not others, or effects to a lesser degree. There’s also a certain class of medications (SERMs I believe?) which are popular with NB/GQs who have a naturally T-dominant body, because they block some of the effects of estrogen like breast growth (there may be something similar with testosterone but if there is I can’t remember it).

You can take e without taking t blockers. You can use monoxidil for hair growth and not take t. You can take t and finasteride (which blocks dht and so prevents things like bottom growth and baldness). You can maybe use t cream (cream! not gel) applied locally to get bottom growth but less of the other effects of t. You can take t and get laser hair removal on your face if you dont like facial hair. You can get top surgery without taking t at all. You can get electrolysis and not do feminizing hrt at all.

Christmas fact: “fancy Santa” figurines are not artistic license, but rather, representations of Santa Claus’ rarely used “powered up” form.

image

Pictured: Santa’s “Super Santa Level 2″ transformation

Is this the form he used in the Krampus arc?

No, Super Santa Level 2 wasn’t introduced until the King Grinch arc. He mostly relied on the Holiday Spirit technique when fighting Krampus:

(The Holiday Spirit technique was later retired due to the toll it took on his body, though it makes a brief reappearance during his battle with the Tooth Fairy in the 1997 OAV.)

I was blown away by the manga-only Cosmic Santa form he attained during the final battle with Jack Frost:

Seeing him tap into the Christmas wishes of all the world’s children to power up his Silver Jolly Happy Soul Rod Attack really made me tear up.

I’ve always wondered whether his Cosmic Form is REALLY all white or if that’s just because the manga’s black & white. Sure, there’s the cover of volume 17 that shows it as white, but it also shows Mrs. Claus’s ceremonial Christmas Eve gown as pure white when we KNOW that’s not true:

And the elves get a white variation of their uniform on that cover too? So I don’t think we can count the cover as strictly canon. I keep hoping we get an OVA remake of the Jack Frost arc that actually follows the manga so we can see Cosmic Form in action. Maybe if the fighting game sells well and shows there’s still an audience for classic manga?

idk y’all should treat fat men better. and i don’t mean mildly chubby guys i mean honest-to-god love-handles-and-double-chins fat guys. stop calling them shit like discord mods or gross weebs or nasty creeps or neckbeards or that they’re stinky or sweaty or beer bellied or whatever else. fatphobia isn’t cute, even repackaged in a neat little box of “ew men”

Hey this extends to bald guys and short guys. I see so much “men aren’t shamed for their bodies like women are” and while yeah it’s not the same, it still definitely happens.

Do you pronounce the words "cot" and "caught" the same way? (Even if it's only a very small difference, count it as different)

Also: in case anyone complains about Americans thinking the US is special or whatever: the US makes up >60% of the native english speakers in the world (242m/380m according to wikipedia), so it's an easy split to make in this context, and I'm not even american lol :P

Do you pronounce the words “cot” and “caught” the same way? (Even if it’s only a very small difference, count it as different)

be snobbish and thoughtful about all art indiscriminately

“it’s not that deep” you have no fucking clue how deep it is

I want to agree with this so bad, but

Like, ok, small thing big- that’s cool, fragile thing hard- weird and cool fine, childhood wonder and nostalgia- cool sure, but that’s all Jeff Koons does! Balloon dogs.

What am I missing?

This is going to sound cliche, but try and expand on what you’re feeling. Does it feature a nostalgic subject or does it actually manage to feel nostalgic? Does the ambiguous material provoke frustration in you? Do you want to touch it? You might be left cold, but that’s an entirely different well to fall down. Try and say the same thing again, but longer. Grab the feeling by its cheeks and pull them apart, look between the kerning of your text. Bullshit your way into it until you find something true. Look up the artist, look up his contemporaries, gain context, shade your opinions to give them depth and definition.

Note, my post didn’t say “All art is good.” Sometimes being snobbish and thoughtful means being critical, but good criticism is a form of respect. It’s a form of self-love, to give your base thoughts a body.

It’s also perfectly fine if a piece of art doesn’t speak to you. A lot of it just won’t, for whatever reason. It’s fine if a piece of art comes across as boring, or dull, or…just there.

Work can be technically demanding and still not “it” for you. Just don’t let the experience of “this one piece didn’t work for me” color your perspective of the artist, style, or medium.

I couldn’t stop laughing for 20 minutes.

No joke.

This has the same energy as a writer desperately trying to make their insanely cool but devastatingly off the wall plot point work with the rest of the story

very upsetting that as a society thighs and tummies have been demonized. like they are literally just body parts and if they’re a little rounder it’s no big deal. beauty standards = pure embodiment of evil in this world

the people rbing this like tummy’s and thighs are cute and squishy uwu that’s not the point of this post like. i’m saying i want body neutrality…i wish having a tummy and having round thighs was neutral…. like don’t tell me you want to squish my tummy bc it’s sooo cute. that makes me feel like an animal in a petting zoo. i wish we as a society could treat bodies that aren’t model-thin as normal and deserving of respect

@sexhaver just thought u would wanna know that ppl are now saying putting the water effect on screenshots in posts is done to “protect it from AI” I feel like this bit of info will be particularly torturous for u.

oh this take was engineered in a lab to piss off me specifically

Get in the pool idiot

“Protect it from being search with AI”… yeah, right. The “select text in an image” feature built into Mac OS X (which is to say: probably not as good as specialized code) can read that text — here’s a direct copy-and-paste from the image above which I did without leaving Safari or doing any editing (which is where the weird line breaks come from):

else answered so im sorry about this but the effect is done to prevent it from being searched with Al, i’m uncertain how well it actually works though. people may be using it to separate posts but that was the
original intent.

So Arizona launched an “education hotline” that allows “concerned parents” to report “””critical race theory””” and other things like ~gender identity~ being taught in the classroom

It would be a shame if the number and email were spread to bad actors looking to prank call the AZ Department of Education

602-771-3500 or empower @ azed .gov 🤡

and for the love of god, don’t just spam it with memes or le funny shrek jokes or whatever, they’ll just hang up

make plausible-sounding reports for things that don’t actually exist, so that they actually have to waste time/resources investigating false leads - the goal is to waste time they would otherwise be using to do their jobs, not to get tumblr clout for being an epic troll

So apparently the internet article said the superintendent wouldn’t be deterred by the prank calls because they would ‘taper off eventually’. It’d be a real shame if this post stayed in circulation via queues so they get a consistent list of prank calls to filter through. 😇
