Unpopular opinion: All games should have the option to enable pausing.
And to save almost everywhere.
Yes even in soulslike games.
I am an adult who has a full time job and responsibilities. I get to play maybe an hour a week. I do not want to lose that hour of progress because devs decided ‘pause’ was not allowed in their game and I had sudden unexpected things come up that meant I had to quit the game without saving/leave it playing and hope enemies wouldn’t respawn.
Also it would massively increase accessability. I have fully working non-injured hands and they still need a break after a tough boss fight. I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be for people with joint pain, arthritis, etc, etc.
Pets. Children. Phone calls. Wife going into labor. People playing the game while working, and needing to pause when actual work needs to be done.
Pot boiling over. Pets getting into a fight. Doorbell rings for delivery. Car wreck on street. Kids coming over to visit. Random weird noise at 1 am that needs investigating. Actually me-> random weird noise was HOUSE ATTEMPTING TO BURN DOWN.

the tendency for racists and white supremacists to go gaga over their idea of ancient Rome is so darkly hilarious because of how entirely wrong it is. It’s not a twisting of some kernels of truth, it’s not a misinterpretation, it’s just the exact opposite, and people in Western Europe has been doing it for so long. For centuries people in Britain and Germany would be like/have been like “ah yes, we are special and superior because we are the heirs of the superior Romans” while next to a giant pile of writings by respected Ancient Romans who went “god, Britain is a dump and Germany is full of idiot barbarians. To anyone rbing this going “you can do this?” YES! It’s apart of having friends I feel, youre a little bit in love with them. And that’s fine, that’s okay, you’re meant to love and it’s only human to love your friends with your whole heart. And to those of you going “but be careful” sure, but also remember that the love you give someone never really does go away. They still have it they will still get reminded of it somehow, you will also still remember it. Even if things do turn out bad with that person. You didn’t waste your love, you loved how you were meant to, that’s all you really can do

The City of Atlanta is refusing to count the 116k signatures on the Cop City Referendum petition, denying Atlanta citizens the right to vote on Cop City and the destruction of Weelaunee forest. On Monday, February 5th 2024 Atlanta will be voting on an ordinance for making referendum a clear and fair practice

Yikes. Your car is probably keeping all your text messages and sending them to its manufacturer if you connect to your infotainment system.

While I am happy that the Hague’s ruling is leaning towards a condemnation of Israel, we can’t relent in our efforts.
Not only because this is merely a preliminary ruling, but because the ICJ does not have executive power over the Israeli occupation. The IDF is free to violate their ruling at any time, at the cost of being deemed international criminals, which has never stopped them before.
Moreover, even if the Israeli government complied, the legal outcome alone is a return to the status quo. Gaza was under siege long before 2023, and the apartheid still stands.
I am not trying to discourage you: this is an unprecedented amount of support behind Pro-Palestinian advocacy, and we now have to decide if we’ll use this opportunity to work towards the end of Israeli occupation of Palestine, or walk away from the issue now that the genocide is reeled back in.
So if you’re tired, if you’re drained, please, let this small victory embolden you and let’s double our efforts.

So a number of Israeli mista'arvim (basically Israeli undercover agents who dress as and infiltrate Palestinian spaces) had snuck into Jenin with cars that had Palestinian license plates and into a hospital where they executed 3 Palestinians who were being treated inside that hospital. This is unprecedented and terrifying. Obviously the claim is that these three had connections to “Hamas headquarters”. Just remember that Israel had killed over 300 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since October 7. This disproportionate violence against an occupied people should not be ignored or shrugged off especially when you examine why Palestinian resistance groups even form in the first place.
