BISAN IS AFRAID THIS MAY BE HER LAST VIDEO. THE OCCUPATION IS PLANNING TO INVADE NASSER HOSPITAL IN KHAN YUNIS, THE LAST FUNCTIONING HOSPITAL IN THE GAZA STRIP.
“Hey everyone, this is Bisan from Gaza. I’m still alive, I’m surviving after the day 3 after 100 [103], but that might be the last day or the last night in Nasser Medical Complex as the hospital is near to the invasion. The tanks are maybe 40-50 meters away from us, the soldiers as well. So the situation is really hard. The carpet bombing before this moment was just, yaani, unbelievable [sound of explosions] unbelievable. The bombings are really loud and are so close to us. The situation is complicated. I’m trying to find any internet connection to tell you what is happening, but [sound of rapid gunfire] Nasser Medical Complex is now near to be invaded. It’s the last functioning hospital. I’m trying to find any internet connections [sound of another explosion] so I can tell you what is happening. The carpet bombing, the ambulances could not even reach the injuries or the people were killed and injured because of the carpet bombing in the areas of Batn Al-Sameen, Qizan an-Najjar, Jouret Al-Lout, the west and the south of Khan Yunis refugee camp. People who are displaced inside the hospital, dozens of thousands are just moving randomly — cannot find any place to go, they tried to go to the schools around the hospital or even to the refugee camp itself to find any safe place while the carpet bombing and the bombings — in general were, yaani, ongoing during their evacuating so it was and still so dangerous for people. The medical staff, the ambulances, many people also evacuated the hospital and that’s so dangerous, this is the last functioning hospital in Gaza. That means that thousands of injuries are still now alone in the hospital. Displaced people are alone in the hospital. They are besieged, we are besieged, I don’t know if I can survive this or go anywhere. I’m just alone. Alone as thousands, alone as many in other hospitals were before, in Al Shifa Hospital, and the Indonesian Hospital, and Kamal Adwan, it’s a war against hospitals, against children, against women, against people with disabilities and injuries. People are just dying. I’m now talking to you in a risky place, in a dangerous place just watching everything and hearing everything by my ears, and by my eyes, to not tell you anything that’s not true — it’s true, they are invading the hospital, I’m trying now to upload this, to leave the phone uploading this and just to get away from here. If I could get back to the phone, and see if it’s published I will, if I couldn’t then that should be my last video. I’m still alive, but I don’t know if I’m surviving this night. It’s now 12:32 a.m., 17th of January 2024. Salam.”

I am a 68 year old gay criminal defense lawyer. I have been keeping journals for 46 years. I am writing a book based on the journals.
I came out as a gay man in 1984. I was married to a woman then. I left the marriage after telling her I was gay.
My younger sister, Zoe, who I was very close to, died rather suddenly of pancreatic cancer earlier this year. She gave me permission to blog the last two weeks of her life.
I journaled my journey through the turbulent 1980’s and 1990’s. During that time, I was pretty vocal about being gay. I volunteered to help people with aids through their illness and death. And, I believe because of this, I was fired from my job as a deputy Public Defender in Modesto California. I had a 12 year relationship with my partner, Jim, who died in 2009.
I wrote pretty much daily about these events and many others. I never intended for the entries to be made public. But, I now think they should be as they weave a common story of what it’s been like to be out, human and gay in the past four decades.
And, as I journaled, I developed ideas and ways to journal and wrote about them in the journals. I discuss the impact journaling has had on me. And, the amazing revelation reviewing journal entries for the blog and book of just how incredible our lives have been. Memory fades. The journal details do not.
My hope is that , after reading the blogs, and maybe some day the book, you too will become addicted to journaling. Your life on paper will amaze you down the line.
If this post gets 5k[edit, the new goal is 10k omg] notes before the end of January, I’ll come out to my parents, get my hair cut, and ask parents for the things I need to pass as a boy.

where’s that tweet that’s like “if you’re trans you have to live”
I’m still legitimately looking for this tweet if anyone has it
[ID: a tweet by tiwzy @ weedcatholic that reads, “if u r transgender u have to live . if u accomplish something else then good . if u accomplish nothing else then good . but u have to live”. End ID]
One of my biggest fears about this situation is that if Israel is forced to stop their attacks on Palestine, that people are just going to forget about them. That people are just going to go back to their daily lives, go back to giving their money to these Pro-Israel companies. They are going to forget that Palestinians still don’t have their rights and that they are never going to be free while their land is under Israel’s command.
Israel isn’t going to stop until they have achieved their goal.
So I’m begging all of you that once this “war” is “over” that you don’t forget about Palestine.
Don’t let their suffering be forgotten and ignored like all those years before.
Many people will wonder now more than ever what “from the river to the sea” means and I’m here to provide a little bit of context
First of all, the phrase has been around since the 60s and was coined by the PLO not Hamas as some would love to claim.
Secondly, to explore what “free palestine from the river to the sea” means, we need to take a quick look at the past 75 years, during which israel had depopulated over 500 palestinian villages by killing and expelling the inhabitants of those villages and rendering them refugees. Following that, israel created what is called “the law of return” which resulted in prohibiting any of the expelled Palestinians to ever return to their home towns. Israel has also then started to implement systems that control the movement of the Palestinians that remained, control their economy, control their water and land, control who can marry who and even control their food intake.
So when the descendants of Palestinian refugees chant “from the river to the sea” what they are calling for is a palestine that is free from oppressive systems, a palestine whose land welcomes its inhabitants back, a palestine where everyone has equal rights, a palestine where the land with its indigenous plants and tree is allowed to flourish again, a land where Palestinians are allowed to visit the seaside; a free palestine.
So don’t listen to some Lindsey Graham Cracker who has the nerve to call for genocide and carpet bombing besieged civilians but draws the line at a freedom chant.
THIS! i cannot stress this enough.
people are really out here getting angry over a LIBERATION chant. the Israeli propaganda worked very well on these peoole
you ever think about how all star has the same impact as a rick-roll
Yeah. I’ve said before that Never Gonna Give You Up is the rickroll for the 80s, All Star is the one for the 90s, and there’s songs for other decades too
what’s the 2000’s rickroll
Someone on Twitter suggested My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas
Gangnam Style is the rickroll of the 2010s.
Maybe. It’s slightly too popular. As I said back I. 2018:
“it’s gotta be the kind of hit song that was a huge hit in the year it came out (even if not #1), it was played everywhere, but it probably wouldn’t show up on classics stations.
it’s the kind of song people forget, unless it shows up on a soundtrack.”
Those IOF Terrorists: *brutally murder innocent Palestinians and enjoy it*
Some Zionist White Supremacist Whacko: LOL Get ‘em, Israel! I hate those human animals so much and we won’t rest until all of them are annihilated forever! White Power! Zionist Power!
Reasonable Jews and the Rest of Us: Please stop killing innocent Palestinians! It’s not right! Ceasefire now!

Humphrey’s bill, House Bill 3084, would ban “students who purport to be an imaginary animal or animal species, or who engage in anthropomorphic behavior commonly referred to as furries at school” from participating in class and school activities.
The bill would require parents or guardians to pick the student up from school.
But, if parents are unable to pick the student up, the bill says “animal control services shall be contacted to remove the student.”
it’s truly incredible that we’ve solved all the world’s problems so that now “grade schoolers meowing” is the most pressing issue we face as a society today.
never thought we’d get to a point that there just weren’t any other issues that needed attention
getting ez therian gender affirmation by having animal control pick me up from school
“who engage in anthropomorphic behavior commonly referred to as furries at school”
genuienly what does this mean. is the behavior referred to as furries banned?? is it banning those who engage in anthropomorphic behavior (that being Human Behavior) who are commonly called (the kids being called) furries??? is a kid going to call the cops on another kid for the crime of Using a Pencil (Known Human Behavior) While Being Called a Furry?????
this is why I hate people like Joe Rogan who spread misinformation and get conservatives to go batshit insane over something. I bet this started off as a conversation about how we need to ban litter boxes in the classroom because it’s such a pressing issue that every kid wants one (nobody, i mean nobody has actually done this lol). They will go over literally anything that Fox or whatever news organization is putting on the spotlight to hate. Kids make animal noises, it’s part of our development. Sometimes they behave like them, doesn’t mean that they’re doing some obscene sex act. I wonder how this will effect the intellectually disabled (modcog, as in moderate cognitive development) students will be harmed the most by this. They cannot grasp why what they’re doing is considered “wrong” and this will just lead to more discrimination against special ed. I bet you that’s one of the targets of this sort of thing, how can we cut funding to special ed departments without violating federal laws. Oh I know, we can go after the behaviors we deem 'weird’
yeah 100%. like kids have no clue what furries are all this bill really does is just give teachers a free pass to call the cops on any little kids and neurodivergent kids they want gone. like i know ive engaged in “furry behavior” per this law, you probably have too, and everyone reading this probably has done it at least once in school too. its nothing more than another excuse to arrest whoever the teacher hates. actually nope. whoever anyone (that knows about this law) hates
litter is also extremely useful in cleaning things like oil spills, for classes like automotive. Just because there’s kitty litter does not mean kids are openly pissing and shitting in a box. anyone who thinks this is deranged
I fucking hate this “capitalism is when you make money, the more money you make, the more capitalism it is” mindset people have gotten. No, an artist selling their own work is not them engaging in capitalism, it’s literally a worker owning their own means of production.
Remember capitalism is someone profiting off of someone else’s labor though owning capital. It is not simply the act of profiting at all.
Oh and if literal grass-touching IS viable, I also advocate for touching invasive grass. Many parks in the US have invasive plant removal volunteer work days. You get some air and some exercise and you can talk to other volunteers if you want or you can just march off into the trees on your own and start wreaking havoc with various hand tools. If you want to do something that is both useful AND destructive, I have found nothing better
funnily enough i did this for the first time today & yeah, i highly recommend, it rules hard
you just show up & they give you a bunch of pre-sharpened loppers & are like “here’s what an invasive blackberry bush looks like, go kick its ass”
and then you just get to hack and maim and wreck for FREE for as many hours as you so desire??? good as HELL
Removal of invasive species is one of the best things you can do for the environment. The task can feel overwhelming, you impact may feel small. But each plant you remove stops thousands and thousands of additional invasive seeds from wreaking havoc on our native wildlife.
we did this for invasive chokecherry trees! moose eat the fruit and the seeds are poisonous and make them sick :(
Unpopular opinion but literally not one person in the world should have their human rights violated
If one person’s rights can be waved away, so can yours
yes, even those people.
Fuck it, adding on: This is why it’s frustrating to see criminal defense lawyers getting a bad rep.
The right to a fair trial is a human right. In practice, a fair trial necessitates a lawyer. This means that even if somebody committed the worst crimes you could possibly imagine, they still deserve a lawyer.
Somebody has to defend them as a matter of human rights. As one of my professors said, way back in my first semester at uni: “Everybody deserves to have somebody in their corner.”
nb the source of criminal defense attorneys getting a bad rep is always, always copaganda. same with the incredibly bullshit narrative of “if you didn’t do anything wrong then why do you need a lawyer?” the purpose of both these terrible stupid pro-cop arguments are to deny you your legal rights.
Someone else said it very well here on this website:
A government whose people lose their rights once they become criminals has a very vested interest in making their critics criminals.
Israel bet that the long-term war would produce this terrible silence, consent to genocide, and getting used to the scene… and frankly, they succeeded in that.
I don’t know what the end of all this is, the whole world has let them down and is watching their starvation and displacement
Also remember a lot of people who are poor now were once not poor. When I was struggling financially, I had super nice clothes because my highschool aged self decided to buy a lot of nice clothes, and my late teens poverty stricken self benefited from those previous choices.
Furthermore, sometimes nice looking clothes are very cheap/fast fashion and are just well taken care of by the clothing owner. I have multiple pieces that are several years old and cost me less money than a burger.
Not only this, but people give clothes away all the time. I literally get given a bag of clothes once or twice a year from friends and whatnot.
Having nice clothes doesn’t mean you spent your last hundred dollars on clothes rather than food, it just means that nice clothes are currently in your possession.
And if you did spend your last hundred dollars on clothes, it’s probably a sign that clothes make you feel more human than nutritious food, which is just another symptom of poverty.
there are literally charities that exist solely to ensure people have quality outfits that fit for purposes of wearing to interviews with potential employers, because so many potential employers preemptively refuse to consider hiring someone who looks too poor
Additionally, poorer individuals have always possessed items above their current pay grade, be they heirlooms, crafts, or just something you saved up for so you could treat yourself to a moment of feeling dignified again. Clothes are a huge candidate for that. Don’t take this dignity away from people. How dearly they pay for it is none of your concern.
“brbr but what if cishet aro men want to join the lgbt community to gain access to resources?”
A: what resources?
B: p sure “the lgbt community” is either opt in or opt out- it’s not like you send an application and need a letter of approval
C: and? If you don’t want to date him don’t date him. If you don’t want to fuck him don’t fuck him. I assure you that you will survive.
“but what if he’s just leading innocent women on?” Well those women are very capable of making sure they’re compatible with their prospective partners so either he’s a shithead that lies (in which case the problem is that he’s a shithead that lies), or they talked about what their relationship means and are fine with the arrangement (in which case… why do you care???)
And like. Anyone can be a shithead that lies. Are we going to start quizzing everyone to make sure no one’s lying about being lesbian gay bisexual or transgender? Do I need to get my queer license renewed every year or is this more a one-and-odone type of thing? What council of gayhood do I need to report to?
I love leather and I love fur and I don’t mind arguing about it.
“Do you think it’s okay to slaughter animals for their skin?” I eat them too AUGH AUGH AUGH AUGH
“doctor I’m wearing a leather jacket and eating a hamburger please you have to take me away I’m a danger to society”
don’t go in there
Venison and buckskin.
And mink and coyote and fox!
Listen, fellas.
The problem isn’t fur, the problem is factory farming. That’s always the problem. Buying fur and bones and shells from Indigenous folks who know how to get them correctly and respectfully is the best practise.
But you know what kind of winter coat eventually decomposes and doesn’t cause pollution and doesn’t contain microplastics? FUR. You know what kind of fabric stays warm even when wet? WOOL. You know what kinds of shoes last forever? LEATHER ONES.
Plastic is bad for the environment. Are you going to kill a thousand animals or one? Those are your choices at this point, there is no zero. You have to square with the idea that you cannot get the blood off your hands, and you shouldn’t feel you have to. We all depend on one another, and it’s possible to want an animal to have the best life it can before you kill it for food and whatever else. Domesticity is a good deal for most animals when it’s done properly–they get protection from predators, free food, and medical care that they wouldn’t get in the wild, and a longer life and a painless death.
Pleather is plastic. Faux fur is plastic. Vegan leather is plastic. It’s all plastic and it all releases microplastics into the water supply every time you wash it. It is not ‘cruelty free’ that is a lie advertising is selling you. You have got to stop thinking with your disgust reaction.
