The IOF continues to steal the childhoods of countless Palestinian children. I’ve seen so many videos of very blatant symptoms of PTSD -seeing emotional and psychological responses to triggers from sudden sounds and movements. You can see stress and anxiousness and fear in their eyes -even when we see videos of them smiling/being hugged and comforted by journalists, doctors, and neighbors/relatives in their communities -they have been robbed -so many of them for decades now and continuously of just being able to be children -to be free from violence and oppression.
I have also seen videos of their entire lives being changed instantaneously with a debilitating injury or amputation due to their communities/hospitals/homes being air-striked, to losing their entire families and being orphaned. I’ve seen videos of them lifeless in their parents arms -something no parent SHOULD EVER have to record and share to get the world to fucking pay attention.
These are ‘experiences,’ and circumstances NO child should EVER have to face in their life. I’d say where the hell has UNICEF been -because aren’t you supposed to be protecting children’s rights ALL around the world? Are Palestinian children not worthy of protection? Over 10,000 of them have been MURDERED by the IOF.
Children shouldn’t have to be worried about hearing BOMBS -they should be talking about their school lives, their friends, how excited they are to go to the beach, to try new foods at a restaurant they want to go to, to travel -to do so many wonderful things but THIS is what they have to live with right now even with glimpses of light and hope…
I will say this time and again -the United Nations is disgraceful.
Creating great and terrible monsters I always run into the problem of them having big vulnerable eyes as a weak point.
Past a certain size threshold the monsters will display a glowing weak point, commonly an eye or a red fleshy growth. My success in inhibiting this trait is limited
I’m just here to remind everyone once again that we can’t stop protesting and boycotting and spreading the word for Palestine, even if it’s been a while. The people in power (mainly the Israeli and US governments) are relying on us losing steam.
And I do want to mention that a small bit of hope to be found among all of this is that things aren’t losing steam. I still see dozens of posts about Palestine every day, I see footage of protests almost every day, and the boycotts are working. I just want to encourage everyone that we just need to keep it up! I’ve seen so many social issues fade out over time, a week of outrage and then things settle down, but that isn’t the case here and I really respect everyone who’s still posting and protesting and seeking out information to end this once and for all. Focus on that hope, and use it to keep going :)

I’ve seen people say clicking on OP’s blog brings them to an entirely random one, and that they couldnt exit it. You’ve got people investigating OP, and white girls getting all defensive. Meet one of the planet’s smallest turtles: the bog turtle (Glyptemys muhlenbergii)! This petite reptile grows up to 4.5 in (11.4 cm) long. It’s easily identifiable by the orange patches on either side of its head.
The bog turtle has an impressive lifespan, with the oldest documented individual reaching an age of 61! Unfortunately, this species is critically endangered due in part to poaching and habitat loss as a result of human expansion.

My current job has me working with children, which is kind of a weird shock after years in environments where a “young” patient is 40 years old. Here’s my impressions so far:
Birth - 1 year: Essentially a small cute animal. Handle accordingly; gently and affectionately, but relying heavily on the caregivers and with no real expectation of cooperation.
Age 1 - 2: Hates you. Hates you so much. You can smile, you can coo, you can attempt to soothe; they hate you anyway, because you’re a stranger and you’re scary and you’re touching them. There’s no winning this so just get it over with as quickly and non-traumatically as possible.
Age 3 - 5: Nervous around medical things, but possible to soothe. Easily upset, but also easily distracted from the thing that upset them. Smartphone cartoons and “who wants a sticker?!!?!?” are key management techniques.
Age 6 - 10: Really cool, actually. I did not realize kids were this cool. Around this age they tend to be fairly outgoing, and super curious and eager to learn. Absolutely do not babytalk; instead, flatter them with how grown-up they are, teach them some Fun Gross Medical Facts, and introduce potentially frightening experiences with “hey, you want to see something really cool?”
Age 11 - 14: Extremely variable. Can be very childish or very mature, or rapidly switch from one mode to the other. At this point you can almost treat them as an adult, just… a really sensitive and unpredictable adult. Do not, under any circumstances, offer stickers. (But they might grab one out of the bin anyway.)
Age 15 - 18: Basically an adult with severely limited life experience. Treat as an adult who needs a little extra education with their care. Keep parents out of the room as much as possible, unless the kid wants them there. At this point you can go ahead and offer stickers again, because they’ll probably think it’s funny. And they’ll want one. Deep down, everyone wants a sticker.

Watching a tumblr post I’ve seen on actual tumblr appear in a YouTube compilation or on some other app always feels like how I imagine wild life photographers must feel when they see an animal in the zoo they’ve photographed in the wild.

Before, studios could do basically whatever they wanted with AI because it was unregulated. That was the problem. Now, they can use it (which I understand why people don’t like), BUT it has to be an agreed to contract by the voice actor contributing their voice to it.
Before, studios could do shit like record the lines for the game, and then use AI training on an actors voice to have them provide more voice acting without any compensation, in perpetuity. Which was fucking awful and the entire reason this was being fought against.
Now, however, the studios can only do it with the actors permission and only in limited capacities within scope of the contract, putting the power in the actors hands. Stuff like “Hey we changed this one line. Do you want to come in and do another take for 1 line, or do you want us to just fake it with AI?” While people might not agree with the second choice, it is now just that, a CHOICE. A choice the ACTOR can make. THAT IS IN FACT A GOOD THING.
Treating this like the strikes were pointless and absolutely no ground was won is an INCREDIBLY bad faith reading of it.
There’s currently an outpouring of voice actors on twitter at the moment saying they don’t know anyone who was consulted by the union on this decision. They feel like they’ve been fucked over.
AI VA will make games worse. People in the industry are losing their jobs left, right and centre because of it. A few people benefiting from having the choice doesn’t mean shit when loads of people never get their chance because a studio prefers using AI instead.
This isn’t a win by any stretch of the imagination. It boosts the acceptability of AI in games under the guise of VA’s having freedom, and it makes the medium worse.

A big part of the reason I am terrified by anti-adult-content censorship is that for a lot of people, queer people are inherently adult just by existing. They’re trying to erase us completely.

i swear mobile games aren’t even games anymore they’re just vehicles for ads. i’ve gotten really into sudoku lately so i downloaded a sudoku app. multiple 40-second unskippable ads per game. solve a grid or a line of numbers and you get rewarded with an ad. need a hint? watch two ads. not to mention all the ads are for other mobile games, which are themselves vehicles for more ads for other mobile games and so on, like a set of matryoshka dolls that all want you to download their app and subscribe for £6.99 a month. remember snake? we used to love snake. it was a kinder world back then

mobile game ad in 2024: unskippable ad on social media featuring a woman with disgusting feet getting licked by her husband frame one and then she shits the bed and gets thrown out into a freezing cold shack as two prompts show up that say Help Her! and Piss on her! and you get to see someone playing a puzzle game badly on purpose. when you download the game its literally just fallout shelter. the puzzle game did not even exist until a week ago where they legally had to add it in and you can only play it once a day after 50 minutes of playtime and it doesnt look nearly as well made as it did in the ad.
