Even in the midst of the new year’s excitement, I genuinely can’t stop being haunted by thoughts of Palestine. We have the privilege of celebrating the new year, making resolutions, looking forward to the blessings in the year ahead—but many Palestinian children didn’t get that privilege. Hundreds upon hundreds of children far younger than me have died in the past 3 months; won’t get the luxury of sharing in this flurry of excitement and joy. Many more are biding their time, not knowing when their last day is. Tonight will mark a new beginning, but I hope it also heralds a year of far more people advocating for Palestine, sharing the atrocities that have been committed in Palestine, boycotting brands supporting Palestinian genocide, and just all around finally coming to terms with the fact that Palestinian genocide SHOULD be their concern—even if they’re not being directly affected by it. More people need to be aware that educating themselves on this should not be a choice, but a responsibility and a must.

Omg omg I got a bulbasaur at build a bear and I was kinda embarrassed about buying it for myself and stuff but there weren’t any other kids in the store or shoppers for that matter and the girl helping me said she was glad to here it was for me as she collects some plushies and has her own bulbasaur.
Well she was almost done stuffing him and then I noticed that you can put scents in your bear and fucking love cotton candy and the girl basically car salesmen style sold me on the scent pad and asked where I wanted the scent to go
And I didn’t know where it should go but she herself being quite the plushie enthusiast was like “you’re gonna hug him a lot right? may I reccomend right here” and pointed to his forehead
So I was like “awe cute yeah that sounds good” (my bulbasaur is totally stuffed mind you and I even had her make him extra firm )
and then the girl rolls up her sleeves and was like “alright bulbasaur! Here we go! I apologize in advance but this is gonna look very inappropriate!”
And she fisted my super full bulbasaur all the way to her elbow saying sorry to him and to me over and over again. It took her several tries to get the scent pad in place since my bulbasaur was so stuffed and she looked like she was straining and saying “I don’t know why they didn’t think about this design more, so many parents are gonna complain about this one day, I know it”
So all in all this was the best build a bear experience I’ve had since I was a little kid and I love my fat, cotton candy scented, anally inclined bulbasaur to pieces

I’m late to the aro positivity party but thought I could shout out a manga I read this year, I Want to be a Wall!
It’s about an aroace woman (who is really into BL) and a gay man being arranged into a marriage and how they navigate that, growing closer and kind of becoming a QPR.
The stuff that really got to me was the discussion of the woman’s experience with her asexuality (and aromanticism though that isn’t explicitly labeled), how it connects to her media tastes and the way people have hurt her in the past. It was all absolutely heartbreaking.
A fun detail I also like is how the pair act out romantic tropes (Gift of Magi style misunderstanding, paranoia about “cheating,”), but they are all done through a platonic context.
(Ex. Even though they’re not in romantic love, he still feels upset at the idea of losing their bond, or her getting hurt by someone he doesn’t know.)
There’s not too many chapters of it out, unfortunately (only like two volumes), but the ones I read are very enjoyable and I’d love to put this on other people’s radar!
